Cardabilities Sketch Challenge #52

Hola!

This post is slightly bitersweet for me.  The new sketch is up at the Cardabilities blog, and as usual, it's gorgeous.  I'm excited to share my card with you today, but sadly, it's my last as a part of the Cardabilities design team.  I have enjoyed being a part of this wonderful group of ladies for the last three months, and couldn't have asked for a better leader in Karan.  She's the sweetest ever!  Thank you Karan for allowing me to be a part of such a great thing.

For all of the details on this sketch, click HERE.

I really like the elements on this sketch.  You could use any shape, but I wanted to stay with the circles.  I got to use some of my new goodies, along with some of my old stash.  Love it when that happens.  Someone did something very nice for me recently, and I wanted to return the favor.  I know she'll love this card, as it has a butterfly on it. :)

Please head over and see what the other wonderful ladies have put together for you today.  They're always so inspiring, and beautiful.

Hugs!

Creative Belli Challenge #140

Hello!

I'm super late getting this posted, sorry.  It's been super crazy the last two weeks, so I've gotten a bit behind on a few things.  The challenge over at The Creative Belli blog is to create a project using three different shapes.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I'm pretty sure there are three different shapes on my card, hopefully.  For this card I used another uninked stamp that I've had in my stash for at least a year, along with some Prima flowers I've owned for almost three years, and the red patterned paper that I've had in my possession for almost two years.  I used THIS sketch, and all in all, I really love how this turned out.  I feel like it may be missing something though.  Eh, I think I'll just leave it alone. :)

I do hope you'll head over to the Creative Belli blog to see what everyone has come up with for this challenge.  They're all pretty fantastic.

I'm spent and off to bed, finally.  I'll be back soon with another something crafty.
Hugs!

Use It Tuesday Challenge #28

Hi everyone!

It's time for another Use It Tuesday challenge!  This challenge is to use an uninked stamp that you've had in your stash for a while.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I don't color that often, but this stamp caught my eye while I was digging through my stash, and I decided it was time to use it.  I've had it for about a year, and it's never seen ink.  The lace and red polka dot patterned paper have both been in my stash for at least 6 months, easily.  I really like the colors, and how everything pulled together.  Not sure who's getting this card yet, but hopefully they'll like it.

The projects posted over at the UIT blog are all pretty diverse, and beautiful.  I do hope you'll get the chance to stop by, and maybe play along with us this challenge. :)

Hugs!

2012 Christmas Card Challenge Week #17

Greetings!!

It's Sunday, which brings us to another challenge at the CCC blog.  This weeks challenge is a color combo: Purple, Pink, Green & White.  For all of the details, click HERE.

Here is what I came up with.

I had a LOT of difficulty with this color combo.  I'm not sure why.  All of the colors are pretty complimentary, but I just couldn't get it to come together that easily.  In all, I'm happy with the outcome.  Looks more spring than winter, but eh, I like it.

I hope you'll head over and see the fantastic Christmas cards that the design team has put together for you.  They're all pretty fantastic!

Have a great week!

Amazing Grace

Hey everyone!

I hope you're having a great week, so far.  It's been kind of a rough one aroud here.  Yesterday morning I got a call from my supervisor stating that we had no power, and that our office and warehouse were closed.  Around 10am, we were informed we could go into the office, but I was already two hours behind by then.  Then, the storms rolled in and we lost power at home for a bit and I missed one of my favorite shows. lol

Anyway, while sitting here with a flashlight and a candle, I worked on a card.  Just for fun.  This is what I came up with.

I have to say that I'm loving it.  I clear embossed the leaves on some patterned paper, then distressed the entire panel with Victorian Velvet distress ink.  The sentiment is lovely and I'm happy with it.  I wasn't expecting it to turn out quite as well as it did, considering the circumstances. lol  I'm not sure who'll get this card yet, but I'm pretty sure someone will enjoy it.

I've combined the following challenges into my card today:

The Pink Elephant #140 - Get Krafty (use kraft)
Craft Your Passion #102 - Just Sentiments
My Craft Spot #49 - Spring Scallops
Use Your Stuff #26 - Anything Goes

That's all for me, for now.  My end of month stuff starts tomorow so I probably won't be around much for the rest of the week.  I hope you have a great one!

Hugs!

Cardabilities Sketch Challenge #51

Howdy!

This is my second post of the day.  For my FYI post, please scroll down.

The new sketch at Cardabilities is up, and yep, it's fabulous as always.  For all of the details, click HERE

I'm totally digging this funky color combo.  I tried to stitch in a straight line again, but don't think I did that well this attempt. lol  I've used tons of my favorites on this card though; butterflies, lace, Nestabilities, my Fleur de Lis border punch...love!  This is another card for the basket at church.  I'm sure someone will love receiving it. :)

I've combined the following challenges in my card:

Crafty Bloggers Network #17 - Floral
Creative Monday's #3 - Anything Goes
Kaboodle Doodles #110 - Show Us Some Green
Paper Playtime #69 - Delicious Die Cuts - Flowers (mine are MFT)
Divas By Design #26 - Citrus Colors
Gingersnap Creations #142 - Border Punches
Sisterhood of Crafters - Birthdays

I hope you'll head over to check out the sketch, and what my friends have made for you today.  They're gorgeous!!

FYI Challenge #26

Hello!

I hope your week is going well!  It's been a bit crazy, as usual, but I have managed to find a good balance this week.  I have to say it's kind of refreshing. :)

I'm excited to bring you my next FYI project.  Here is the inspiration photo.  And, for all of the details, click HERE.

I love how the dark and light contrast between the deep, rich colors, and the light bridge.  The softness of the trees and the sharp lines of the architecture are wonderful as well.  I would love to be sitting on this bridge, watching the day go by. *happy sigh*

For my card, I tried to incorporate all of the elements I saw in the photo.  The light to dark reds, the earthy elements of the tree branches, the rocks peeking out from under the red leaves on the ground and the contrast of the bridge.  I really like how my card turned out with the pop of green, kind of tying everything together from the photo.  I'm a little disappointed that I fudged the top part of the red panel, at the top.  I had too much water on the stamp, and it got blurry.  Then again, I'm a bit OCD like that, but I'll get over it. lol    I also wanted to put my sentiment in an off the wall kind of spot.  It's not typical for me, and I kinda like it.  All in all, it was a successful attempt at what I was attempting.

I've combined the following challenges into my card:

Ruby's Rainbow #24 - Lace
Scrapalicous - A Cut Above (different shape)
City Crafter Challenge #100 - Things In Your Heart (this was made for my friend, whom I miss terribly)
Crafty Sentiments - Things With Wings
Belle's & Whistles Challenge - Butterflies

My Lovelies have created some awesome cards today.  I do hope you'll get the chance to visit the FYI blog to see what I'm talking about, and hopefully, play along with this challenge.

Hugs!

Creative Belli Challenge #139

Greetings my friends!

Happy hump day!  Only two more days until the weekend, yay!  I hope you're having a good week.  Things here have been pretty mild, and manageable.  I hope they continue to stay this way for a bit.

I have another Creative Belli challenge to present to you.  This challenge is CAS.  If you know me, you know I have a hard time with not wanting to add tons of stuff and layers, so this challenge was difficult for me.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I have been wanting to try this type of focal panel for a while now.  I think it turned out pretty well.  I love the CAS look and the vibrant colors.  I have to admit the only thing I'm not thrilled about is the bow.  It just didn't turn out exactly how I wanted, and I messed with it so much, I got frustrated with it and left it. lol  Anyway, I'm sure someone at church won't mind the bow at all. :)

I've combined the following challenges in my card today:

CAS-ual Fridays #43 - CAS (with the sentiment as the focus)
Fabulous Friday Challenge 3/9 - Kraft Paper

I hope you'll head over to check out what the other Belli Girls have created for you today.  Pretty fabulous, as always!

Hugs!

Use It Tuesday Challenge #27

Hello!

Welcome to another Use It Tuesday challenge.  This challenge is to use Green on your project.  Don't forget that the idea is to use up some old, neglected or hoarded crafty stuff.  For all of the details, click HERE.

You can't tell from this photo, but this card is really small (3 1/2 X 4 1/4).  I wanted something smaller than a regular A2 sized card, so that I could use it on a smaller gift I have for a friend.  This sketch was fantastic, and I think all of the elements came together nicely.  I struggled with the colors, but green and yellow are two of my friends favorite colors (wonder if that's why she chose Baylor for college? lol)  In the end, I know she'll enjoy it, and that's what counts.

I've combined the following challenges in my card.  I'm excited I was able to combine quite a few. :)
Sweet Stop #149 - Sketch
Speedy Fox Friends' Challenge #98 - Bingo: Sewing, Bling & Embossing
OCCC 3/10 - Tic Tac Toe: Flowers, Yellow, Glitter (it's a stretch, and you can barely see it, but I used my Sakura glitter pen on the butterfly antenna, under the sentiment...you know how phobic I am to loose glitter so this was the best I could do...lol)
Crafty Contagion 3/10 - Spring
Pile It On #11 - St. Patrick's Day or Shades of Green
Card Caravan #14 - Lucky Green
Glitter Geeks Week #10 - Spring
Raise The Bar #95 - Go Green

The other designers at UIT have created some really cool projects today.  I'm always so inspired by the talented women on my design teams.  They challenge me to always step up and do the best that I can.  I hope you'll head over to check them out.

Back soon with another something crafty!

Is it too early to start asking Santa...

...for Christmas presents?  I think I found the next victim in my "Dear Santa" letters. lol  I didn't get David Beckham, or Willy Monfret, so maybe the third time's a charm?

Check out those eyes!  And, those cute freckles...adorable.  His name is Jesse Williams, and I'm sure many of you know him from Grey's Anatomy.  I think I may have just become a fan of the show.  Maybe.  I better get to work, now that I've wasted like a half hour browsing through photos of this guy. lol

Hope you have a great day.  Enjoy the eye candy!

2012 Christmas Card Challenge Week #15

Hiya!

How has your weekend been?  Mine has been very nice.  It was chilly here in DFW, only getting into the 40's, so I made a big pot of soup, and crafted the weekend away.  I only left my house to go to work for a bit yesterday afternoon.  Brr!

It's Sunday, which brings us to our next CCC!  This weeks challenge is an Inspiration Photo.  For all of the details, click HERE.

And here is my interpretation of the inspiration photo.

I really like how my card turned out.  The red, white and black color combo is classic, and looks fabulous for Christmas.  I'm really loving the last on the left side too.  It was givent to me, and it's beautiful.

I've included the following challenges in my card as well:

Get Hippity with Ippity #16 - Sketch
Divas by Design #25 - Favorites (Lace for me these days)
PaperPlay Challenge 12, Week 10 - Recycle (I used an old book page to create my snowflakes)

I hope you'll head over and check out what the other designers, and our guest designer, have created for you today.  They're pretty fantastic!

Wow...

...I'm SO behind in catching up with some things.  I didn't even realize that I was chosen as one of the Super 6 at Card Patterns, for THIS card, until just now.  There are always some amazingly talented women who are chosen, so I am totally shocked, and honored that I was among them.  I know it's a month late, but still.  Woo hoo!! :)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend, so far!

Stay crafty my friends!

2012 Christmas Card Challenge Week #14

Happy Sunday!

I'm excited to share my next Christmas card with you.  This weeks challenge is Embossing, wet or dry.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I normally tend to go for the non-traditional colors, but these papers have been in my stash for a while, and I really wanted to use them.  Also, I did emboss, I promise!  It's just all covered up under everything else.  And, did you see my "straight" stitching?!  I'm rather impressed with myself this time.  I haven't really practiced much.  The sewing Gods must have been with me when I sewed on that piece. lol  I love the look of this card, with the lace and all of the details.

I've combined the following challenges into my card today:

The Crafts Meow - February Sketch
Top Tip Tuesday #71 - Stitching
Emerald Faerie Garden #19 - Embossing
Creatalicious Challenge #31 - Lace
Ribbon Carousel #42 - Anything Goes (must have lace, ribbon, twine, etc.)

I do hope you'll head over to the CCC blog to everyone's cards.  And yep, you guessed it, they're pretty fantastic!

For Kelly...

Hi everyone,

I got a phone call yesterday from my best friend in San Antonio, Kelly, with word that her mother had passed away on Tuesday.  Even though I had only spoken with her mother a handful of times, I knew she was a wonderful woman.

Judy messaged me on Facebook a few times to ask a few questions about papercrafting, and to let me know how beautiful she thought all of my projects were.  Only knowing her a short time, I feel blessed to have had her kind words, and support.  I know that Kelly, and her family are hurting right now, but I'm hoping that the sentiment in this card holds true.  I didn't want a lot of "fluff" on this card.  I wanted it simple, and meaningful, and I think I've accomplished that.  I know they'll appreciate it.

If it's not too much to ask, would you please say a prayer for my friend and her family in their time of loss?

I appreciate each and every one of you!

FYI Challenge #25

Hello!

I apologize but I don't have a project for my FYI challenge today.  I do, however, have the inspiration photo to share with you.

Isn't it gorgeous?!  I absolutely adore this photo.  *happy sigh*

I hope you'll head over to see what my Lovelies have created for you today.  Maybe you'll be inspired and play along with us this challenge.  You can find all of the details HERE.
