Drunken Stampers #84

Well hello!

Looking at my last post, I am wondering where time has gone.  It has been almost two weeks since I last posted anything.  Goodness, that's bad. lol  It's end of month for us at work, again, and it's so crazy busy that my creative mojo hides from me.  Hopefully, I'll get back to posting more crafty stuff for you soon.

Anyway, I have my last Drunken Stampers card to share with you.  Sadly, I won't be able to stay on for another term, as I am just too busy with work.  I have truly enjoyed being a part of this team, and am thankful for the opportunity.  The challenge this week is Thank You.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I really like these colors together.  The patterned papers I found in these colors actually go quite well together also.  I'm not sure why I hadn't used this MFT doily die yet, but I love it.  It came together pretty quickly, and I'm sure the recipient will enjoy it.

I've combined the following challenges in my card:

Colour Create #90 - Lilac, Blue, White & Kraft
Delightful Challenges - Patterned Paper
Crazy 4 Challenges #125 - 2 Layered Card
Our Creative Corner - Over The Edge (have an element not restricted to the boundaries of your edges)

I hope you'll check out the Drunken Stampers blog to see what my friends have created for you today.  They're all pretty fabulous.
Hugs!

2012 Christmas Card Challenge Week #1

Hi y'all!

It's an exciting day today!  We are starting our new year at the Christmas Card challenge blog.  We've got some great new challenges, an amazing and talented new design team, and some cute stamps up for grabs each month.  I am totally blessed to be a part of such a wonderful team.  Sparkle has been the best, and the ladies on the team are always a joy to work with.  Not to mention, I'm completely ecstatic at the end of the year when all I have to do is send out my cards.  Huge bonus! lol  I do hope that we can inspire you to join us each week and help build up your stash of cards throughout the year.

So, onto our first challenge, which is to create a One Layered Christmas card.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

Here is the card I made for this week.

I wanted to go with a "less is more" kind of thing.  This is as one layered as I get. lol  I kept it simple, and without a sentiment for now.  I couldn't decide on what I wanted to say, so I figured I'd leave it alone, until I knew what I wanted to do.  I love the simplicity of this card.  The traditional Christmas colors are beautiful together, and the debossing adds just the right touch, for me.  I think I might make a few of these, in different colors maybe, and take them to work.  I've combined the following challenges into my card as well:

Colour Create #85 - Red, White & Green
Pals Paper Arts #122 - Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke & Very Vanilla
Raise The Bar #86 - It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

As always, the cards posted on the CCC blog are fabulous.  I hope we can tempt a few of you to play along with us each week.  Either way, I would recommend at least checking them out. :)

Stay crafty my friends!
Hugs!

I hope everyone has had a good weekend, and got in lots of crafty goodness.  My post is going to be short and sweet as I have tons to do today.

Here is my card for this weeks Christmas Card Challenge, which is a sketch, created by the wonderful Peggy Toole.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

You know how I am about my non-traditional Christmas colors, and this was no exception to that.  I love how this turned out.  My favorite part is probably the teal colored chevron striped background paper, LOVE!  I've combined the following challenges in my card as well.

There are only three challenges left for this years CCC term.  Are you able to join us this week?  It is the first of the month and there is a cute SCRS stamp up for grabs too, don't forget.  Please check out what the other DT members have created for you today.  They're all very nice!

Another Birthday Card

Happy Tuesday!

I've got a quick post for you as it's a busy morning already.  I got a work call at 3am, and haven't been able to get much sleep since then.  Ugh, sometimes I dislike my job.  Anyway, onto my card.

I needed another birthday card for a co-worker and wanted to keep it simple.  I thinkg I achieved that, lol.  I've combined the following challenges in this card.

Sketch by Carly #39 - Sketch
Colour Create #79 - Pink, brown, cream and white

I do hope you have a good day today.  I'll be back soon with another card.

Hugs!

Feel Better

Hi ya'll!

Did you have a good weekend?  It was another hot one for us here in DFW, but we managed to stay cool in the pool.  I love having a pool.  My brother in law was in town for a ministry conference, so it was nice to spend some time with him as well.  I did get to crop on Saturday night at my friend Joni's.  We had such a blast.  She's truly a blessing in my life.

I got a couple of cards put together, but this one is the one I liked most.

I'm sure by now, ya'll know how difficult it is for me to create masculine cards.  My friend helped me with some of the elements of this card as well.  This time he chose the colors chocolate, red and tan (for which I used kraft again), and buttons.  He also wanted me to create a masculine card.  This isn't the original card I put together first.  I did take it apart and add a couple of things before I was truly happy with it.  I think it turned out ok.  It just so happens that recently one of my transportation contacts was injured while playing basketball at a family bbq, and wound up in a coma from a concussion.  He's awake and coherent now, but it was a reminder of how quickly things can alter ones life, and another huge reminder of how short life can be.  My supervisor and I agreed that we should send him a card.  I'm going to enter it in the following challenges:

Crazy4Challenges #102 - Masculine
Cards 4 Men #17 - Anything Goes
Colour Create #78 - Kraft, Red & White
Papertake Weekly 8/23 - Dies

It's back to work for me today, but I will be busy in the evenings this week creating some stuff for a special order.  I don't normally take orders, but my friend made me an offer I couldn't refuse.  Dang peer pressure. lol  I'll be back soon with another card.

Also, before I forget, we've got some new stuff happening over at the FYI blog on Thursday.  I can't wait to share the news, and introduce you to my two new girls.  I'm SO excited!  Don't forget to check back on Thursday to see what all I'm talking about.

Have a great day!
Hugs!
