Unscripted Sketches Challenge #157

Yola!!

I hope your weekend is off to a fabulous start!  I was up early this morning so that I could participate in a challenge issued to my community group at church, by our church pastors.  The challenge was for all of us to take 15 minutes, at the same time on the same day, and pray for each individual in the group.  Since everyone in my group is super busy, the only time everyone was available was today at 7:15am.  I would have loved to have slept in, as I don't get to do that often, but it was well worth the sacrifice.  I'm feeling cleansed and refreshed, and content.  Anyway, onto my crafty post for today.  Thanks for letting me share. :)

There is another wonderful sketch posted at Unscripted Sketches today.  For all of the details, click HERE.

When I first started my card, this was not how I pictured it in my head. lol  I was hoping to have things turned around, a bit, but it didn't work out as planned.  Instead, this is what I wound up with, and I'm happy with it.  I've wanted to use this daisy image forever, but hadn't really been able to make it work before either.  I recently debated on selling all of my Copic markers, but am glad now that I didn't.  A doily, some lace, and a butterfly, and I was done.  This will be another card for church as I think it has the perfect sentiment to go there.  I've combined the following callenges in my card as well.

Kaboodle Doodles #117 - Add some dimension (image and butterfly are popped up)
The Pink Elephant #146 - Spring
Papertake Weekly - Anything goes
My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge #55 - Embossing
Whimsy Inspiration #37 - Spots and Dots

I hope you'll go check out the sketch and see what my friends have come up with for you today.  They're fantastic!

Back soon with another something crafty!
Blessings!

Drunken Stampers Challenge #76

Hi everyone!

I'm SO excited to bring you my first project as a Drunken Stamper!  We have a fitting theme for our challenge this week, which is Halloween.  This is my first Halloween card of the year.  I didn't really think I needed to make any, so I haven't really been too concerned about it.  I'm thinking I probably should make at least two or three to take to work now though.  Anyway, for this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I really like the colors in this Halloween card.  I'm all about non-traditional, so any chance to steer away from that, I'll take it!  These papers are fabulous and I like how my card came together.  The embossed pumpkins at the bottom add just the right "something" to this, for me anyway.  I do hope you'll head over to the Drunken Stampers blog to see all of our first projects. They're pretty cool, I must say.  I've combined the following challenges as well:

Paper Sundaes #89 - Lots of Layers
Bloggers Challenge #232 - Sketch
The Pink Elephant #119 - Trick or Treat
Papertake Weekly 10/4 - Anything Goes
SCRS Challenge #63 - Light Blue, Orange & Black (I'm happy, I finally got to participate in one of their challenges!)

Alright.  I'm off to chat with a special someone (whom i've been keeping secret) while he's off on a work contract in South Africa.  I'm hoping I'll be able to persuade him into taking some photos for me so that I can scrapbook them when he returns.

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs!

FYI Challenge #14

Hello everyone!

I'm so excited to be back with our next For Your Inspiration challenge.  This weeks photo is absolutely breathtaking.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I'm loving this photo.  The contrast of the light and dark colors, the jagged cliffs against the slightly rippled water, the way it looks as if something has been thrown into the water to make it "splash" against the sky.  Just gorgeous!  *happy sigh*

Here is the card I created based on the photo.

I have to say, this actually turned out much better than I expected.  It's been a while since I've gone, WOW, at something I've created. lol  I hope my sister and brother in law enjoy this card.  It's their non-traditional anniversary card.  I've combined the following challenges into this card as well.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #134 - Sketch
Papertake Weekly 9/13 - Things With Wings
Belli Challenge #126 - String (I used bakers twine)
Flutterby Wednesday #171 - Open (must have a butterfly, angel or fairy)
Pile It On #37 - Layer It

I do hope you'll head over to the challenge blog and see what beautiful inspiration is posted.  I know you'll be as delighted as I am.  Remember you have two weeks to play along, and you can create anything you like.

Have a great day!
Hugs!

Feel Better

Hi ya'll!

Did you have a good weekend?  It was another hot one for us here in DFW, but we managed to stay cool in the pool.  I love having a pool.  My brother in law was in town for a ministry conference, so it was nice to spend some time with him as well.  I did get to crop on Saturday night at my friend Joni's.  We had such a blast.  She's truly a blessing in my life.

I got a couple of cards put together, but this one is the one I liked most.

I'm sure by now, ya'll know how difficult it is for me to create masculine cards.  My friend helped me with some of the elements of this card as well.  This time he chose the colors chocolate, red and tan (for which I used kraft again), and buttons.  He also wanted me to create a masculine card.  This isn't the original card I put together first.  I did take it apart and add a couple of things before I was truly happy with it.  I think it turned out ok.  It just so happens that recently one of my transportation contacts was injured while playing basketball at a family bbq, and wound up in a coma from a concussion.  He's awake and coherent now, but it was a reminder of how quickly things can alter ones life, and another huge reminder of how short life can be.  My supervisor and I agreed that we should send him a card.  I'm going to enter it in the following challenges:

Crazy4Challenges #102 - Masculine
Cards 4 Men #17 - Anything Goes
Colour Create #78 - Kraft, Red & White
Papertake Weekly 8/23 - Dies

It's back to work for me today, but I will be busy in the evenings this week creating some stuff for a special order.  I don't normally take orders, but my friend made me an offer I couldn't refuse.  Dang peer pressure. lol  I'll be back soon with another card.

Also, before I forget, we've got some new stuff happening over at the FYI blog on Thursday.  I can't wait to share the news, and introduce you to my two new girls.  I'm SO excited!  Don't forget to check back on Thursday to see what all I'm talking about.

Have a great day!
Hugs!

CIC #102 - Welcome Spring

Hi everyone!

Did you remember to reset your clocks?  Daylight savings time kicks in today.  I totally forgot about that until a bit ago.  So, are you ready to be inspired by some more yummy cupcakes and stuff?

This weeks sponsor is Doodle Pantry.  They were kind enough to let us play with some of their images, and my gosh are they darling!  This week they are also being generous in donating a $10 gift certificate to our lucky winner.  You should go check them out.  They're adorable!

For this weeks inspiration photo, we had this to work with.  To check out this weeks challenge, click HERE.

Wow!  Talk about yum-o!  These were absolutely gorgeous to get inspiration from, and I had little trouble creating my project.

I used Spring Song Birdies for my card, and I added the Welcome Spring sentiment from the same set.  This image was a lot of fun to color and I think it turned out really cute.  I like how the pop of black felt offsets the rest of the card.  I embossed all of the base layer together to get the hearts how I wanted them, and then added a butterfly, of course, to finish it off.  I'm also going to enter this into the following challenges.

Kaboodle Doodles #57 - Go Green (Use green)
Corrosive Challenge #106 - Going Green (Use green)
Crafty Cardmakers #41 - Fabric (I used felt)
Papertake Weekly 3/8 - Lemon Zingy (Use yellow)
The Pink Elephant #95 - Springtime
Monday Lunchtime Sketch #164 - Sketch

The other Sweeties have created some amazing projects for you today.  I can't wait for you to head over and check them out.

Hugs!

Thank You So Much!

Hi ya'll!

I was so excited I got to play along with a couple challenges yesterday evening.  It's been a while since I've created something just for fun.

You know how I am about my butterflies.  I'm SO happy that Spring is almost here again, and I can get back to putting butterflies on just about everything I make.  Although, I'm not sure I really ever stopped.  Hmm.  Anyway, I'm going to enter this into the following challenges.

Papertake Weekly - Putting On The Glitz (My butterfly wings are outlined with my Sakura Stardust pen)
Flutterby Wednesday #142 - Butterflies with a rainbow theme.
Stampin Royalty #59 - Mark It Up (Use your markers. My butterflies were colored with my Copics)

I hope you have a great evening!
Hugs!

CC302, PPA #74 & PWC 12/21 - Happy Birthday

Hi everyone!

Did you have a lovely Christmas holiday?  Mine was fantastic.  I feel so happy, and content with everything at the moment.  Ever had that total feeling of peace within?  That's where I am right now. *happy sigh*  I'm happy that I got the chance to get some extra crafting in too.  Lately, I've felt as if I am only creating projects to meet my DT obligations, and I was getting in a rut.  Thank goodness for 4 day weekends. :)

I needed a birthday card for another co-worker.  She's one of my favorite people in the office, and she loves the color red.  Can't go wrong with the classic red, white and black color combo.  I love how this card turned out.  It's simple, and elegant, and I know she'll love it.  She's one of my biggest fans and I wanted to make sure she got a nice card.  I used THIS sketch, THIS color challenge, and am also going to enter it into THIS challenge.  I'm off to work, but I'll be back with another crafty project soon.

Hugs!
