House of Cards September Challenge

Hey y'all!

I'm late posting this, but am happy to have even gotten a card made.  The challenge this month at House of Cards is to use a bird and/or the colors below.

I don't have any bird images, so I went with the colors.  Here is how my card turned out.

I really dig the simplicity of this card with the ombre colored background, and pop of color from the flower.  I also love the silver embossing.  I know exactly who will get this card.  I hope they like it.

That's all for me.  I'm off to make dinner, and get things ready for my work week.  I hope everyone had a safe, and relaxing holiday weekend.  If you get the chance, I hope you'll check out what my friends at HOC have created this week.

Have a wonderful day!

House of Cards - Happy Anniversary

Hi!

I hope you had a great weekend, and that your week is starting off well.  I dislike Monday's, but I've got quite a bit going on today, that it should go by quickly.

Today is the next challenge at House of Cards.  This is the 5th week in the month, so it's a photo inspiration challenge, and you get to pick whichever style you like.  For all of the details, click HERE.  Check out the inspiration photo.

And here's what I created.

I needed a card for an anniversary coming up, so this is what I made.  I LOVE these crochet mats I bought from Jessi Fogan.  They are gorgeous!  I kept it simple, to focus on the sentiment panel.  I'm hoping it will make it through the mail ok, considering it's quite bulky.  I guess we'll see, huh? lol

Anyway, I hope you'll head over to the House of Cards blog to see what has been posted.  Throughout the week, all of the DT's projects will be posted.  Lots of eye candy this week for you!

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs!

FYI Challenge #14

Hello everyone!

I'm so excited to be back with our next For Your Inspiration challenge.  This weeks photo is absolutely breathtaking.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I'm loving this photo.  The contrast of the light and dark colors, the jagged cliffs against the slightly rippled water, the way it looks as if something has been thrown into the water to make it "splash" against the sky.  Just gorgeous!  *happy sigh*

Here is the card I created based on the photo.

I have to say, this actually turned out much better than I expected.  It's been a while since I've gone, WOW, at something I've created. lol  I hope my sister and brother in law enjoy this card.  It's their non-traditional anniversary card.  I've combined the following challenges into this card as well.

Sweet Sunday Sketch #134 - Sketch
Papertake Weekly 9/13 - Things With Wings
Belli Challenge #126 - String (I used bakers twine)
Flutterby Wednesday #171 - Open (must have a butterfly, angel or fairy)
Pile It On #37 - Layer It

I do hope you'll head over to the challenge blog and see what beautiful inspiration is posted.  I know you'll be as delighted as I am.  Remember you have two weeks to play along, and you can create anything you like.

Have a great day!
Hugs!
