Guidance

Hi!

Today's post is going to be short and sweet.  I am running a bit behind, because I overslept, and I forgot to schedule this post. lol  I'm becoming more and more content with my CAS cards lately.  Here is another I made to share with all of you.

I really wanted the sentiment to stand out, and be the focal point on my card.  I do believe I have achieved what I was attempting.  I love this sentiment, and I remind myself everyday that I need to continue to do this.  I'm entering this card in the following challenges.

Word Art Wednesday #143: Anything Goes
Case This Sketch #87: Sketch (w/additional challenge to add a tag)
Just Us Girls #252: Ribbon
Cupcake Inspirations #272: Mint, White & Gold

I hope everyone has a great week.  I'll be back soon, hopefully, with another card to share.

Stay crafty my friends!

So Thrilled You Picked Me

Hiya!

Here we are at another Wednesday.  I'm super excited though, again.  In just a couple more days the weekend will be upon us, and I will get to sleep in.  Woo hoo for sleeping in! lol  I was looking through my card stash, and realized that I have very few "cute" cards.  I always seem to do "classic and elegant", I'm told, so I wanted to try adding some other types of cards to my collection.  Here is the one I made last night.

I'm glad that I ordered some Paper Smooches stamps.  They have the most adorable images, that work well for cute cards.  I'm going to enter this card into the following challenges.

Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #271: Inspiration Photo & Ribbon (hope my lace qualifies)
Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge: Sketch

I'm off to start my day, and hopefully get things caught up enough that I don't have to work from home this weekend.  I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Stay crafty my friends!

More Than Ice Cream

Whew!

Today was a very long day, but I managed to get one more card made.  Woot!  I am happy to report that my daughter is feeling much better, thank goodness.  We're going to try to grab some dinner, and then be total bums for the rest of the evening.  Hoping she's well enough to be in the parade tomorrow morning.  Guess we'll see.

Anyway, here's my next card.

I love the goodies in my August Simon Says Stamp card kit.  The stamps are adorable, and the sentiments are too cute.  My daughter is not a fan of ice cream, so I think this will be perfect to slip into her backpack, for her to find during the school day.  I apologize, but my colors look a bit washed out.  Not sure what happened there.  The script in the background is pink, as is the light color on the popsicle.  I'm glad I made it just in time, to enter the following challenges.

Retro Sketches #124: Sketch (my loose interpretation)
Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #270: Rose, Lime & Pool

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Stay crafty my friends!

What's In It?

Rejoice

Hola!

Happy Humpday!  I hope your week is going as well as mine is.  School started on Monday, and because my daughter is a pretty good teenager, we've already gotten into our daily routine without any trouble at all.  What a year it has been for us, and I'm thankful that things continue to get better.

So, I created this card, just for fun.  I wanted to try a couple things, and I wanted to use colors that I probably never would have combined, had I not been challenged by them.  This is definitely out of my comfort zone, but it's growing on me.  Here's my card.

This is my very first attempt at a one layer card.  I think the butterflies might disqualify me from being a true one layer, but it needed something.  Everything else is stamped on the main panel of my card.  I used a stencil/mask from one of my Simon Says Stamp card kits, and think the added design works well enough.  I stamped my sentiment in the masked center panel, and then I stamped the flourish on the side.  I liked how it seemed to appear layered with all of the elements, but it was still in need of something.  That's when I added the butterflies.  In all, I like my card, even though I don't know if I'd use these colors together again.  I can't lie though, it is pretty bright and bold, and cheerful. :)

I've combined the following challenge in my card today:

Card Crafters Circle #88 - Winged Things
Stampin for the Weekend - Butterflies
Cupcake Inspiration Challenge #224 - Lime, Berry & Eggplant
The Paper Players #159 - One Layer Card (this was my first attempt, not sure I pulled it off though)
Pile It On #33 - No Designer Paper

I hope you have a great rest of the week.  I hope to be back soon, with another crafty project.  It's going to be a busy weekend though, as we've got our last trip planned for this weekend.  Guess we'll see what happens.

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs!

I love this little MFT girl with her apple.  She's adorable!  I colored her with my Copics, and then used my Nesties to cut her out.  I had these adorable October Afternoon papers in my stash, and found them to be perfect for this weeks challenge.  All in all, I think my card turned out well, and I've got another card for my stash.  I've also combined the following challenges in my card.  Popular theme this week!

My Sheri Crafts Challenge #92 - Back to School
Craft Your Days Away #52 - Anything Goes
Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #175 - Back to the Books
Stampin Sisters In Christ #154 - Punches or Dies

Lollipop Crafts Challenge #88 - Back to School
My Grafico Challenge #135 - Back to School

That's all for me.  I'm off to work, then I need to finish packing.

Have a wonderful day!

CIC #112 - Celebrate

Hi everyone!

It's Sunday, which brings us to another fabulous Cupcake Inspiration challenge.  This week we have another great sponsor.  Check them out.

Through the Craft Room Door is a fabulous eZine with tons of info and tips, etc.  They also have challenges now.  This weeks lucky winner will receive a full years subscription.  Talk about generous!

Now, onto this weeks photo inspiration.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

Talk about gorgeous!!  These are some of my absolute favorite colors together, and I just want to tear into those awesome cupcakes. lol  Below is the card I created for this weeks challenge.

I love these colors together, but now that I'm looking at it, I'm not sure I like the strip of dark green patterned paper.  Do ya'll ever create something, and then after the fact, decide it doesn't look right? lol  I don't think I'll change anything, but it does kinda stick out.  I used THIS Cardabilities sketch (#31), and really like the elements all together in the corner.  It's spring, almost summer around here, so I've begun to break out the butterflies on everything again.  Consider yourselves warned, ha! :)

I do hope you'll head over to see what the other Sweeties have created for you today.  They're gorgeous, as usual.

Have a wonderful day!

CIC #111 - Hello

Hi ya'll!

How has your weekend been?  I hope you've gotten lots of crafty stuff done.  It's Sunday, which brings us to another Cupcake Inspiration challenge.  This week we have another fantastic sponsor.

Robyn's Fetish has some super digital images and a great online store.  We were lucky enough to get to use some of their images on our projects this week and I just adored them.  You should head over and check them out.  I think you'll like what you see.

I absolutely love this weeks inspiration photo.  It's got some of my favorite colors and it's all around just a cute set of photos to work with.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

See, it's it just adorable?!  Love the birds and the cute cupcakes.  All around it's just a great photo.  Here is what I did with it.

Ok, so let me tell you.  Stitching on an embossed piece of paper is more than tricky.  I hadn't used my sewing machine in over a year and a half, or more, so I wanted to make sure I started using it again.  I think I'll have to keep practicing as it looks a bit rough, but it works witht he embossing, so I didn't change it.  I used A Little Birdie Told Me from Robyn's Fetish, and for some added dimension, I cut out the feathers on his wings and "ruffled" them up a bit so they looked more real.  I also popped up the centers in the flowers and gave them some sparkle.  I think it's cute, and simple.

I hope you'll head over to see what amazing projects are posted by the other Sweeties today.  They're always so awesome!

Have a great day!
Hugs!

CIC #110 - Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone!

Happy Mother's Day!  Welcome to another Cupcake Inspirations challenge!  This week we have another gorgeous photo and a super fab sponsor.

This week we're sponsored by Glitterbabe's Digi's.  We were lucky enough to get to play with a few of her digi's and they are wonderful!  You should head over and check out these great digi's.  You won't be disappointed!

Now, onto this weeks inspiration photo.  I love the bright colors.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

Aren't the bees just adorable?!  I think they are just too cute!  Below is the card I made based on the photo.

Now, before you question, I want to explain.  I took all of the colors from the inspiration photo, and went with the more muted route.  I have had these papers forever, and really wanted to use them.  So, here they are.  I used the Dahlia digi from Glitterbabe's Digi's, colored with my Copics and popped up three different layers with foam adhesive.  In real life it's really dimensional.  I used last weeks Sweet Sunday sketch and I love how it turned out.  I hope my mom likes her birthday card.

The other Sweeties have created some amazing projects today.  I do hope you'll head over to see what they have done.  Amazing, as always.

Have a great day!
Hugs!

CIC #109 - Mom

Hi ya'll!

It's Sunday, which brings us to another Cupcake Inspiration Challenge.  This weeks challenge is really bright and colorful.  We also have a fabulous sponsor.

Anita B Stampin has some awesome, fabulous images and some wonderful items in their store.  You should go check them out.  I'm sure you'll enjoy the visit to their store and blog.

This weeks inspiration photo is adorable.  I love the idea, and how they decorated the cupcakes.  Just too cute.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

See?  Isn't it adorable?  I challenged myself to do something clean and simple for this challenge.  Check it out.

There are no layers, very few embellishments, and the sentiment on white pops against the pink.  I really like how this turned out.  Simple, and fun.  I know my mom will enjoy it.

I hope you'll head over to see what the other Sweeties have created for you today.  They're always very well done.

By the way, don't forget that you have until Wednesday to participate in the latest FYI challenge.  :)

Have a wonderful day!

CIC #108 - Birthday Wishes

Happy Easter to all!

I hope that you have a blessed day with family and friends, and are enjoying the day.  I apologize, but this post will be a bit short as I will be headed out today with friends for brunch.

This week we're sponsored by Wild Rose Studio.  This company has some adorable images, and we got to use some of them in our projects this week.  I hope you'll head over to their site and check them out.  It's worth a trip.

The images we were to use this week paired very nicely with this weeks inspiration photo.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

Isn't it the cutest?!  This would be perfect for a princess themed birthday party.  I love the purple and green together as well.  Below is the card I created, using this photo.

I wanted a purple dinosaur.  Most are green, but I was in a purple mood.  I used Fergus with Cupcake and think he's absolutely adorable!  I don't normally use purple this much, but for some reason, I was really in the mood to keep piling it on. lol

I hope you'll head over to see what the other Sweeties have made today, and check out our fabulous sponsor.  Both are fantastic!

Peace my friends!
Hugs,

CIC #107 - Happy Mother's Day

Hi everyone!

It's a beautiful weekend here in the DFW area and I have enjoyed laying out with my roomies, chatting the time away.  I'm going to have a nice tan soon and I'm thrilled about that.  What have you guys been up to this weekend?  Anything exciting?

I have another Cupcake Inspiration card for you today, and we are being sponsored again by Prairie Fairy.

There is a sale going on, from what I understand, so you should head over there and check it out.  This weeks lucky winner will also receive a prize of 5 images of their choice.  Talk about lucky!

Now onto this weeks inspiration photo.  Check it out.

Oh my goodness!  I was so excited when I first saw these.  I love the Asian theme, and the colors are wonderful.  I think I might just need some of these at my next birthday party. lol  Below is the card I created using this photo.

I think I may have found a comparable spot to take my photos at the new house.  The colors may be a bit off, but it is the best photo I got, so far.  I used this weeks Sweet Stop Sketch (#104) and like the results, for my first card in three weeks. lol

You should head over to the CIC blog to see what the other Sweeties have created for today.  They're absolutely amazing!

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs!

CIC #104 - Happy Mother's Day

Hi again!

This is my second post of the day.  For my CCC project, please scroll down.

So, I have another Cupcake Inspiration challenge project for you today as well.  It's another beautiful inspiration photo, and we have another fabulous sponsor.

This week we are being sponsored by the super fabulous Paper Pretties.  They have some wonderful stamps and digi stamps, among other items in their store.  This week, they're being very generous in offering a stamp set to our winner.  You should head over and check them out!

And now, here is our gorgeous cupcake inspiration photo.  Talk about beautiful!  And they're CUPCAKES! lol  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I went looking through my stash and found some awesomely coordinating papers.  It was easy to put my card together once I had everything picked out.  Check it.

I used THIS sketch, and love how it turned out.  One of my coworkers needed a Mother's Day card for his mother in law, and I'm pretty sure they'll both enjoy this.  I love this sketch.  I think it's the off centered panel underneith the main one.  Not sure why, but I do. lol  And, it wouldn't be a Steph card without some embossing and a butterfly. :)

I hope you'll had over to the CIC blog to see the amazing projects the other designers have created for you today.  As always, they're nothing short of fabulous!

Have a wonderful day!

CIC # 103 - Love You Muchly

Hola ya'll!

I'm over the moon excited to bring you today's Cupcake Inspiration project.  One of my favorite illustrators is sponsoring us and we got some beautiful images to play with this week.

Our sponsor this week is Heather Ellis, illustrator of Pure Innocence stamps.  Her images are just darling and they are so fun to color and work with.  This week Heather is being so very generous in offering 3 digital images to this weeks winner.  How fantastic is that?!  You should go check out her site.  It's awesome!

Without further delay, I give you this weeks Cupcake Inspiration photo.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

Don't these wonderful cupcakes look absolutely gorgeous?!  I wanted to eat all of them when I saw the photo. lol  There's something about daisies that I just adore.  And, see that cute pop of pink in the back with the butterfly?  Yep...LOVE!  Here is the card I created for this weeks challenge.

I had so much fun with this card.  For some reason, the best photo I got, makes her face look striated.  I'm not sure why that is as it's not that way in real life.  I think it may be time for a new camera.  Anyway, I used THIS sketch loosly, added a flourish, some embossing, an embossed MFT rolled rosette and the sentiment.  Easy to put together, and so much fun.  I think I know just who I'm going to give this to. *wink*

So, now I leave you to make your way over to the CIC blog to see what the other Sweeties have created for you today.  I'm sure you're going to be as inspired as I always am.

Have a wonderful day!!

CIC #102 - Welcome Spring

Hi everyone!

Did you remember to reset your clocks?  Daylight savings time kicks in today.  I totally forgot about that until a bit ago.  So, are you ready to be inspired by some more yummy cupcakes and stuff?

This weeks sponsor is Doodle Pantry.  They were kind enough to let us play with some of their images, and my gosh are they darling!  This week they are also being generous in donating a $10 gift certificate to our lucky winner.  You should go check them out.  They're adorable!

For this weeks inspiration photo, we had this to work with.  To check out this weeks challenge, click HERE.

Wow!  Talk about yum-o!  These were absolutely gorgeous to get inspiration from, and I had little trouble creating my project.

I used Spring Song Birdies for my card, and I added the Welcome Spring sentiment from the same set.  This image was a lot of fun to color and I think it turned out really cute.  I like how the pop of black felt offsets the rest of the card.  I embossed all of the base layer together to get the hearts how I wanted them, and then added a butterfly, of course, to finish it off.  I'm also going to enter this into the following challenges.

Kaboodle Doodles #57 - Go Green (Use green)
Corrosive Challenge #106 - Going Green (Use green)
Crafty Cardmakers #41 - Fabric (I used felt)
Papertake Weekly 3/8 - Lemon Zingy (Use yellow)
The Pink Elephant #95 - Springtime
Monday Lunchtime Sketch #164 - Sketch

The other Sweeties have created some amazing projects for you today.  I can't wait for you to head over and check them out.

Hugs!
