Greetings friends!
I hope you're having a great day. I am really enjoying the awesome weather we're having, and plan on going for a bike ride with my daughter after work today. It's so nice to be able to get back outside and "play". I hope everyone is having nice weather in their area as well. I hope it lasts for a while.
Anyway, here is the next card I have to share with you.
I LOVE the bright, cheerful colors here. The yellow with the polka dots paper from my March SSS Card Kit is fabulous! I really like the colors this month. I decided to make this into a shaker card, so I could use some of my new Pretty Pink Posh seed beads. They are also pretty fabulous. I know exactly who I will be sending this to, and hope she enjoys it. I'm going to submit this for the following challenges.
Sparkle & Shine Challenge #1: Photo Inspiration
Retro Sketches #156: Sketch (my loose interpretation)
Pile It On #59: Green
I'm off to work, and am hoping to be done early, so I can leave a bit early. I'll be back soon with another something crafty.
Hugs!

More Than Ice Cream
Whew!
Today was a very long day, but I managed to get one more card made. Woot! I am happy to report that my daughter is feeling much better, thank goodness. We're going to try to grab some dinner, and then be total bums for the rest of the evening. Hoping she's well enough to be in the parade tomorrow morning. Guess we'll see.
Anyway, here's my next card.
I love the goodies in my August Simon Says Stamp card kit. The stamps are adorable, and the sentiments are too cute. My daughter is not a fan of ice cream, so I think this will be perfect to slip into her backpack, for her to find during the school day. I apologize, but my colors look a bit washed out. Not sure what happened there. The script in the background is pink, as is the light color on the popsicle. I'm glad I made it just in time, to enter the following challenges.
Retro Sketches #124: Sketch (my loose interpretation)
Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #270: Rose, Lime & Pool
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
Stay crafty my friends!

Imperfection
Hi ya'll!
It's been really odd, weather wise, here in Iowa this week. Overnight lows in the 40's and highs only in the low 70's. It makes it perfect for staying indoors to make stuff. lol I'm headed to Sioux City to scrapbook with a couple of friends this weekend, so I'm trying to get a couple cards done before I go. I need to send a box of cards to my sister, since her stash is getting low. I had R (my fiancée) pick the colors for this, and went from there. I'm kind of excited at how well these colors went together. To be honest, when he first told me what colors he wanted, I was stumped. In the end, I think it turned out pretty nice.
I used some of my new Simon Says Stamp stash, and think my sister will enjoy having it to give away. I'm going to enter this into this weeks Retro Sketches challenge (#123).
I'll be back soon with another something crafty. I hope everyone is having a great week!

Be Strong
Hola!!
How's everyone doing? I hope you've been able to have a nice, relaxing weekend, filled with crafty goodness. My daughter left on Friday, for vacation with her best friend, and I've been a total bum. All I've done is make cards, and eat. I'll have to make sure to focus more on the crafting, and not the eating though. lol I've got plans with an old friend who recently moved from Dallas to Sioux Falls, and will be in my area for work this week. I can't wait to see him. Should be a blast to kick his butt in a game of cribbage. :o)
I wanted to participate in a few challenges I saw online, so here is what I made for them.
I'm having a bit of difficulty getting good, true to color, pictures up here. For some reason, everything seems to have a gray overcast when I go to edit them, even when the sun is out. I am trying a new software, but the pictures seem to look really, really bright to me. I guess I'll just have to keep trying to work it out. I made this card for a friend who's going through some difficult stuff right now. Her favorite color is yellow, so I thought it would be perfect to pair with the gray. I've had these papers in my stash for a while, so it's good to use some of it up. I know she'll love the happy mail, and even if only for a short while, she'll be able to smile.
I've combined the following challenges in my card:
Retro Sketches #70 - Sketch
Dynamic Duos #59 - Basic Gray & Your Choice (I chose yellow)
Totally Gorjuss #190 - Wings
2 Sisters #150 - Stripes
I'll be back soon with another something crafty. I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to make lots of stuff this week. lol I hope you have a wonderful day!
Hugs!

Papercraft Star Challenge #120
Hello friends!
I hope you're having a good week, so far. Today I am celebrating the 10th anniversary of my 27th birthday. lol It's hard to believe that my birthday has arrived already. It feels like it was my birthday not too long ago. Time sure has gone by quickly this past year. There has been a lot going on, and I'm hoping that this next year is better. I'm emotionally exhausted, and ready to get back to normal. Anyway, onto why you're here.
I have another Papercraft Star challenge to share with you today. The theme this week is:
I do hope you'll head over to the PCS blog to see what other gorgeous projects are posted today. They're absolutely stunning! Seriously!
Have a wonderful day!

Gray & Yellow!
I like this color combo. It seems classic and elegant to me. I went digging through my stash of patterned papers, and found ones that I thought worked well together. I used THIS sketch, loosly, and everything came together quite well. Here is how it turned out.
I'm digging it. These colors really go together nicely. I love color challenges. They really force me to use colors I wouldn't think of using together on my own. I've got another card for my stash, and will be happy to use it soon. I do hope you'll head over to the PCS blog to see what other gorgeous projects are posted today. They're absolutely stunning! Halloween Witch!
Once I saw the theme for this week, I knew exactly which stamp I wanted to use. It's been in my stash for a while, and I love it. Here is what I created.
My card turned out exactly how I saw it in my head. I actually think it turned out a bit better than expected. lol I love the CAS look, and it's not too bulky, so I can send it to someone without issue. Gotta love those distress inks, as usual, as they worked perfeclty for what I wanted to do. I wasn't sure what sentiment I wanted to include, and am thinking I may not even need one. Another card for my stash, woo hoo!

Papercraft Star Challenge #116
Yola!
Happy humpday! How has your week been? The week is half over already, but I am still enjoying my time with my family, here in the midwest. It's been nice. I've woken up to cold, crisp mornings, and highs in the low 70's (maximum), and I've slept better in the last few days than I've slept in the last few months. Although I could never live here again, it's always so refreshing to be here, visiting my mom. I almost feel as if it's good for my soul. Maybe that's kinda cheesy, but I know that I'm always so much more relaxed and revived when I get home, after a visit.
Anyway, onto why you're here. I have another card to share with you today. The theme today at Papercraft Star is:
Annabelle Stamps Challenge - Say It With...Thanks
Bloggers Challenge - Falling For You (fall colors)
Card Crafters Circle #43 - Autumn Colors
Card Makin Mama's - Fall
Crafty Catz #153 - Autumn
Retro Sketches #32 - Sketch
Stamptacular Sunday #184 - Photo Inspiration (fall leaves)
There are more gorgeous projects posted on the Papercraft Star blog today. I absolutely adore them! I do hope you'll get the chance to see what I'm talking about. Maybe you'll get the chance to join us for this weeks challenge. :)
Have a wonderful day!

Fall Colors!
I am in love with this photo! It reminds me of being in Colorado in the fall, when the trees look this gorgeous. Please keep in mind that the inspiration photos are always use if you choose. You don't have to incorporate it into your project, as long as you stick with the theme. Easy peasy, right? Here is what I created for this challenge.
I've had this embossed Core'dinations paper in my stash forever and thought it would be well used in this card. I'm slightly disappointed with my Stampin Up! stamps at the moment. They don't want to stick to my clear blocks. In this case, the stamp feel off my block, after I stamped my sentiment, and caused the marks above the "Thank You" on my sentiment panel. Unfortunately, I was pressed for time, and couldn't redo it. Eh, I guess it's not terrible. I added some bakers twine, at an angle, and a cute red button with a bow, and was done with it. I like it, even with the "oops". I've got another card for my stash, and I'm pretty sure this won't be the last time I have an accident like that. lol I was also able to combine the following challenges in my card today.
Annabelle Stamps Challenge - Say It With...Thanks
Bloggers Challenge - Falling For You (fall colors)
Card Crafters Circle #43 - Autumn Colors
Card Makin Mama's - Fall
