Blue Skies

Greetings!

I hope everyone is having a good week, so far!  It was a lazy weekend around our house, but I was able to get a couple of crafty things done.  Here is a card I made for a friend in need of encouragement.

I wanted to try a technique that Dawn McVey introduced on a weekly tutorial for PTI, that uses two different background stamps together.  You can barely see the light pink polka dots in my photo, but in real life, they're pretty cool.  I have a feeling I'll be trying this technique again.  It's easy.  I've had this stamp in my stash forever, and decided it was time to ink her up after neglecting her for about a year.  I paper pieced the umbrella, and cut her out so I could pop her up.  I think this card is bright, and cheerful, and I'm hoping it will bring a smile to my friend.

I've combined the following challenges in my card today:

Crazy 4 Challenges #197 - Paper Piecing
Sketchbook Saturday #102 - Sketch
Dynamic Duos #64 - Strawberry Slush & Daffodil Delight (I tried to get as close as I could)
Our Creative Corner - Words, Words, Words
Kaboodle Doodles #183 - Anything With Scallops (my lace has scallops)
The Pink Elephant #211 - Texture
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #232 - Backgrounds (using your stamps)

I am hoping to get more crafting done this week, as we're expecting rain over the next few days.  Great time to make a bit pot of homemade veggie beef soup too, I think.

Have a great day!
Hugs!

You Are My Sunshine

Hello, hello!

I'm home today with a broken big toe and cellulitis (infection).  I can't get a shoe on, or put any kind of pressure on it, so I can't drive.  I decided to make a card to distract myself from the pain, and so that I don't feel like I've wasted a whole day, doing nothing.  The doctor says I should feel better, and see a significant improvement by tomorrow, and I can go back to work then.  I sure hope so!!

I recently got some new Lawn Fawn goodies, and decided I needed to ink them up.  Here is what I created.

The sweet Lawn Fawn group were very nice, and sent me some really pretty papers, as a thank you for my order.  I've used some of them in this card.  I think they go perfectly together.  The colors are nice and cheerful, and you can tell that Kelly Marie definitely chose the design elements for them.  I made this card, along with a few others, that I will be hiding in my daughters stuff, before she leaves on vacation with her best friend next week.  This is our first week apart, for longer than a day or two, in years.  I'm glad she's going, but am already starting to feel a little stressed out by the separation anxiety. lol  With everything that's happened recently, legal wise, she's been stuck to me like glue.  We'll see how we survive...

I've combined the following challenges in my card today:

Our Creative Corner June Challenge - Recipe (Ribbon (twine), Wood, Inks)
Sweet Sunday Sketch #87 - Sketch
Use It Tuesday #58 - Bring on the Sunshine (I've had the twine, and bracket die in my stash for months)

I found out yesterday that I was chosen at a Top 2 at Use It Tuesday, for THIS card.  Thanks ladies!

I'll be back soon with another card.  I've received a lot of new goodies that need to be used soon.  Have a great day!
Hugs!

Drunken Stampers #84

Well hello!

Looking at my last post, I am wondering where time has gone.  It has been almost two weeks since I last posted anything.  Goodness, that's bad. lol  It's end of month for us at work, again, and it's so crazy busy that my creative mojo hides from me.  Hopefully, I'll get back to posting more crafty stuff for you soon.

Anyway, I have my last Drunken Stampers card to share with you.  Sadly, I won't be able to stay on for another term, as I am just too busy with work.  I have truly enjoyed being a part of this team, and am thankful for the opportunity.  The challenge this week is Thank You.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I really like these colors together.  The patterned papers I found in these colors actually go quite well together also.  I'm not sure why I hadn't used this MFT doily die yet, but I love it.  It came together pretty quickly, and I'm sure the recipient will enjoy it.

I've combined the following challenges in my card:

Colour Create #90 - Lilac, Blue, White & Kraft
Delightful Challenges - Patterned Paper
Crazy 4 Challenges #125 - 2 Layered Card
Our Creative Corner - Over The Edge (have an element not restricted to the boundaries of your edges)

I hope you'll check out the Drunken Stampers blog to see what my friends have created for you today.  They're all pretty fabulous.
Hugs!

Peace, Joy and Love

Hi everyone!

I do hope you had a wonderful holiday and weekend.  It's back to work for me today, and I'm dreading it.  I have been gone and can only imagine the piles of stuff that are waiting for me to tackle on my desk. lol

I got some extra time to create some more stuff, just for fun.  If all goes well, I'll have something posted two or three times this week.  Here is my first card.

I love the very non-traditional look these colors give to this Christmas card.  If you know me, you know how I love the non-traditional colors for my cards at Christmas time.  It was a bit challenging to get everything how I wanted it, but all in all, it turned out pretty well.  I've got another card to add to my pile, and that's all that really matters.  I've combined the following challenges for this card:

Unscripted Sketches #134 - Sketch
Crazy 4 Challenges #115 - Snow
OCCC 11/26 - O' Christmas Tree (include a Christmas tree of some sort)
Crafty Contaigon Challenge 11/26 - Leftovers (use your scraps, just about everything on my card is a scrap of some sort)
PDCC #108 - Maroon, Copper, Tumeric (I got as close as I could)
Paper Sundaes #97 -  Winter Wonderland
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #140 - Anything Christmas

I hope you have a good week.  I'm off to get ready and make the dreaded drive to work on a Monday after a holiday. lol  I'll be back soon with another something crafty.

Hugs!

Christmas Card Challenge Week #35

Hi ya'll!

How is everyone today?  Are you having a good weekend?  I certainly am trying.  I have to work today, so I'm not enjoying the six day work week too much.  lol

It's Sunday, which brings us to another Christmas Card Challenge.  This week we have a wonderful sketch made for us by the lovely Peggy Toole.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I really liked this weeks sketch, and think I'll probably use it a few more times.  I'm going to enter this into this weeks OCCC, which is a color challenge of red and aqua, and this weeks challenge over at Speedy the Cat's Friends challenge (#66), which is anything but ribbon.  I used twine.

I hope you'll head over to the CCC blog to see what everyone has created for you today.  We're getting closer and closer to Christmas.  Have you started your Christmas cards yet??

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs!

CIC #101 - Birthday Blessings

Yola!

See, I told you I'd be back later with another card. lol  I'm really excited to bring you another Cupcake Inspiration challenge.  We have another fabulous sponsor, and the cupcake this week is fantastic!

This weeks challenge is sponsored by The Paper Garden.  They have some wonderful stuff in their store, and some adorable stamps and digi images that are fabulous for coloring.  They're being generous enough to offer this weeks lucky winner a $20 gift certificate to the store.  You should go check them out.

And now, for this weeks cupcake inspiration photo.  Isn't this gorgeous?!  Click HERE for this weeks challenge.

Wow, it looks so beautiful and I just want to stare at it. lol  I love the contrast of the icing colors and the deep chocolate of the cupcake itself.  Mmmm!  Here is my card based on this delightful, yummy treat.

I used the Tulip digital stamp set, and colored them with my Copics.  I cut out two of the flowers and popped them up, although you can't really tell from the photo.  I used THIS sketch, and lots of elements for added dimension.  I love this card! The colors are gorgeous together and I love the small pop of yellow, not to mention the Fleur de Lis embossing folder.  I cannot wait for Spring!

You must head over to see what the other Sweeties have created for you today.  So amazing!

Have a great day!
