CIC #100 - Smile!

Hi everyone!

This is my second post of the day.  For this weeks CCC, please scroll down.

I'm really excited to bring you today's CIC project.  It's our 100th challenge and we've got some awesome stuff happing this week.  First things first.  Below are details on this weeks fabulous sponsors.  And yes, I did say sponsors, as in more than one.  This is going to be a long post, so make sure to get comfy!

The Octopode Factory has some really unique stamps and is offering a $10 credit to their store.  You must check them out!!  They're oh so adorable, in a quirky kind of way.

Next on our list is Anita Be Stampin.  Anita has a lot of fabulous images and I think I will need to purchase at least one of each in her store. lol  She is being gracious to us this week and offering $15 credit to her store.  You'll need to go check out everything she has.  I'm totally drooling!

Another of our sponsors this week is Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps.  They've got some wonderful stuff in thier store and are being very generous in offering 5 digital images and a coordinating paper pack.  Nice, huh?  I would totally play along just for that. lol

As an added bonus this week, our very own Rachel, is also offering a great prize.  Doesn't this stuff look fantastic?!  Wow, I can just imagine the things you can create with this prize.

So now, after all of that teasing, I bring you this weeks inspiration photo.  You can check out all of the details on the 100th post happenings by clicking HERE.

Oh my word!  When I first saw this photo, I couldn't help but smile.  I love everything about this, and it makes me happy to know that Spring is just around the corner.  I {heart} these cupcakes!!  Here is the card that was inspired by these yummy little treats.

I tried not to overdo with the pink, since I'm not a huge fan, but I think it balances everything really well.  These papers worked well together, and I like all of the layers, textures, and dimension provided by all of my elements.  I love how the big flower is the center of attention too.  Gosh, I think I {heart} my card today.  I seldom say that, but boy oh boy, do I like it.  I've also included the following challenges.

Mojo Monday #179 - Sketch
Stampin' Sisters In Christ #76 - Use Green In Your Card
The Pink Elephant #94 - Recipe: Buttons, Lace & Ribbon (I followed loosly with bling, lace, and twine, hope they don't mind too much)

Wow, I think this is the longest post I've EVER created. lol  Are you overloaded with inspiration and happiness like me?  Well then, I hope you'll head over to the CIC to check out the festivities and see what the other Sweeties have created for you today.  I'll be back soon with another something crafty. :)

Have a wonderful day!!
Hugs!

CCC #13 - Warm Holiday Wishes

Hi everyone!

I hope your weekend is going well.  I'm having a fabulous weekend!  I got caught up on some stuff I had been putting off, and I got to see a great friend.  It's always good to see him and catch up. :)

I have another Christmas card for you today.  This week the challenge over at the CCC is to use punches on your card.  As always, the challenges are totally optional.  Any Christmas or winter card is great.  We're just trying to help get your Christmas card stash built up so you're not crazy busy at the end of the year.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I love the penguin paper!  I've already used it a couple times this year even.  It's just too cute!  I used one of my favorite border punches for the green polka dotted paper, and added some lace and twine for a cool look and added dimension.  This card actually turned out better than I expected.  I really like it.

We've got some great projects posted on the CCC blog today.  Hopefully, you'll get the chance to head over there and check them out, and maybe play along.

Have a great day!!

US #95 - I {heart} You!

Hi everyone!

I hope your weekend finds you in good health and spirits.  This is going to be a quick post because I'm headed out to see a friend who's in town.

For this weeks Unscripted Sketches challenge, click HERE.

This is my loose interpretation of this weeks sketch.  I love the purple/green color combo and how it all came together quite nicely.  And, I love the Pink Paislee die cut paper!  This is another of my favorite photos of Sydney from her photo shoot back in November.  The idea to get her in reflection was genius, if you ask me.  And, I love that they caught the word flirt behind her on the door.  I have a feeling she's definitely headed that direction.  My charming little girl.  *sigh*  They grow so fast.

I hope you'll head over to the US blog to see what everyone has created for you today.  As always, they're all pretty fantastic.

Hugs!!

Happy Mother's Day

Yay for Thursday!

That means I only have to get up early for one more day this week.  I love sleeping in, don't you?  Anyway, I have another quick post so that I can share another card I made last Saturday while at my friend Joni's.  I wanted to break away from the traditional Mother's Day card, and here is what I wound up with.

I've had some Pixielicious paper for a while now.  I'm happy with how this came together, using those papers.  I stamped the gorgeous Verve flower onto some patterned paper, cut it out and popped it up using dimensionals.  I absolutely love the textured leaves on this.  I think they add a nice touch, and more dimension, without being bulky.

That's it for me today.  I'll be back on Saturday with another project for you.  Have a great day!
Hugs!

Woo Hoo! :)

For THIS card.  What a cool way to start the day. :)

Have a good one!

Thanks!

Hi ya'll!

I spent Saturday afternoon with my wonderful friend Joni, craftying away.  I'm so blessed to have her in my life, and am thankful that we have such a great friendship.  I didn't create anything for any of my design teams.  I just made some cards that I wanted to make.  It was so refreshing to just play with my toys, without having any obligations to meet.  Here is one of the cards I made.

I've had this precious PI girl colored for a while, so I decided it was time to put her on a card.  I added a bit of glossy accents to my apple, so it's shiny.  I love these colors together and will probably use them again.  Had I been smart, I would have paper pieced her dress.  Either way, I still like my simple card.  I'm entering it into the following challenges.

C4C #75 - Use Dies (I used my Nesties, and a leaf die)
Drunken Stampers #55 - Absolutely To Die For! (Use dies)

I hope you're having a great week!  I'll be back soon with another card.  Yay!

CIC #99 - Birthday Wishes

Hi ya'll!

This is my second post of the day.  For this weeks CCC, please scroll down.

I'm SO excited to bring you my first project as a CIC Sweetie!  I have looked through the photos of the cupcakes for the next few weeks, and my gosh, are they beautiful!  I cannot wait to share them with all of you each Sunday.

This week we are being sponsored by Prairie Fairy Designs.  They have the most adorable images.  You must check them out!  You can read all about them HERE.  One lucky winner this week will receive 5 images of their choice!  Yep, I said 5.  Fantastic, right?!

This week we have a mini cake as inspiration, isn't it gorgeous?!  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I fell in love with this cake almost immediately.  It's my favorite color, after all, and is just too pretty not to love.  I tried to add all of the elements I could into my card, and hope I was able to pull it off.  What do you think?

I'm not one to "fussy cut" much, but I chose Sketchy Blooms from Prairie Fairy, and thought they would be perfect for that this time.  I colored them with my Copics, and then "fluffed" them up a bit to add some dimension.  The background panel that's embossed is a light blue color, but in my photo is looks white.  I had a difficult time getting a good picture of my card yesterday.  All in all, I love how it turned out.  The images are adorable, and the mini cake was great inspiration.

I hope you'll head over to the CIC blog to see what everyone else has for you today.  They're all amazing!  I'm still pinching myself. lol

Hugs!

CCC #12 - Holiday Greetings

Happy Sunday ya'll!

At the CCC blog we have another great challenge for you today.  This weeks challenge is a color combo: Light Blue, Dark Blue, Silver and White.  Again, this challenge is optional, and any Christmas/Winter card will do.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I like this color combo, but I didn't have anything silver, except for the pearls.  I substituted for gray, and called it a day.  I had a small piece of Maya Road rosette ribbon left and it worked out perfectly for my card.  I used this months Sketch For You To Try, and think my card turned out pretty decent.

I'm off to clean and do laundry.  I hope you'll head over to the CCC to see the lovely creations posted by the design team.

Hugs!

Twisted Sketches #47 - Just Because

Hi everyone!

I'm back with my second post of the day.  For my Unscripted Sketches project, please scroll down.

So, have I mentioned that I am totally in love with Anam's sketches?  If not, well I am.  If so, I'm saying it again. lol  They're so versatile, and the twists are always fun.  This weeks twist is: Distress - any how, any way.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

There's a lot going on with this card, but I like it.  For the distressing part, I used my Tim Holtz distresser, and I also used some Core'dinations embossed paper that I sanded a bit so you could see the pattern in it better.  I also inked the Nestie under my sentiment, while it was still in the die.  I love how that turned out.  Embossing my cardstock before cutting it with a Nestie is a look that I like more and more each time I do it.  I added some MFT rolled flowers made out of cork, bling, twine and a couple of leaves and I was done.  I think this one will be a go to layout for cards for me.  I really like it.

Ready to be inspired?  Go check out what my fellow DT members have created for you today.  My card doesn't even compare to some of them posted.  They're just gorgeous!

Hugs!!

US #94 - Sydney

Greetings ya'll!

How is your weekend going, so far?  What are your plans for today?  Hopefully, you're doing something fun and exciting, unlike me. lol  I'm back to trying to clean up the garage a bit.  I hate to clean. :(

Anyway, Saturday brings us to another Unscripted Sketches project.  There is a piggyback challenge for this week.  The piggyback is to use fabric.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

Again, you can see this was created back when we had snow. lol  Hey, I'm happy I got the chance to sit home for a couple days during the work week and do nothing but craft away. :)  I was very productive. lol  I don't have any fabric, so I used felt for the butterfly.  I may have to think about purchasing some fabric pieces, just to keep on hand.  This layout was created in a 6X6 size for Sydney.  She said she wanted something for her to put in her room.  I asked her to choose a few of her favorite photos, and then put everything together for her using this weeks sketch.  I'm glad she loved it.  She's very much a girly girl.  I'm glad, as I'm not really like that. lol

I hope you'll head over to see what my friends have created for you today.  There are some great, outside of the box, ideas posted.  Can't wait for you to see them!

Have a good day!
Hugs!

Thank You So Much!

Hi ya'll!

I was so excited I got to play along with a couple challenges yesterday evening.  It's been a while since I've created something just for fun.

You know how I am about my butterflies.  I'm SO happy that Spring is almost here again, and I can get back to putting butterflies on just about everything I make.  Although, I'm not sure I really ever stopped.  Hmm.  Anyway, I'm going to enter this into the following challenges.

Papertake Weekly - Putting On The Glitz (My butterfly wings are outlined with my Sakura Stardust pen)
Flutterby Wednesday #142 - Butterflies with a rainbow theme.
Stampin Royalty #59 - Mark It Up (Use your markers. My butterflies were colored with my Copics)

I hope you have a great evening!
Hugs!

Sketches4Cards

Hi ya'll!

I have some exciting news to share.  A while back Anam from Twisted Sketches approached me (and a few others) to see if we would be interested in creating a card using a sketch for her new iPhone/iPad/iTouch application called Sketches4Cards.  I was flattered that she thought I was creative enough to be included in this fantastic project.  You can click on the link above to read all about Sketches4Cards and Sketches2Scrapbook.  They're wonderful applications for any papercrafter!

Here is the card I created for the gallery.

I'm pretty excited to be a part of such a cool event.  I also have a layout in the Sketches2Scrapbook gallery, but can't find the photo on my laptop.  Boo!  I hope you'll head over to the website to check it out.

Have a great day!

CCC #11 - Naughty & Nice

Hi ya'll!

Are you staying warm?  We've been in the 50's and 60's this weekend, and I'm loving it.  I'm so ready for Spring to get here.  Hopefully, it will come sooner than later.

So, I have another Christmas Card for you today.  The challenge this week is shopping.  Keep in mind that the challenges are totally optional.  Any Christmas or winter card will do.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

As you can see, this project was created last week, while we still had snow. lol  Sometimes I get the opportunity to work ahead, and I took advantage of my office being closed during the bad weather.  I like how my card turned out, but you can't really see how a couple of my gifts are popped up.  In real life there is quite a bit of dimension.  It's also got a bit of sparkle from my Spika pens.  The non-traditional color combo is something I was hoping to pull off, and I think it turned out ok.

Head on over to the CCC blog to see what my friends have created for you today.  As always, they're all pretty fantastic.

Have a great day!

US #93 - Thanks

Good day to all!

How is your weekend starting off?  Are you crazy, running around trying to get caught up because of the nasty weather, like me?  Or are you relaxing and taking it easy?  Either way, I hope you find time to get some crafty stuff in.

I have another Unscripted Sketches project for you today.  This weeks sketch was created by our very own, Becky.  I really liked this sketch, it leaves a lot for interpretation.  Then again, all of the US sketches are pretty fantastic. lol  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I used Color Q #70 for this card, even though that challenge was closed a week ago or so.  I loved these colors together, and had to use them.  I like how my card turned out with the light against the dark.  The embossed heart is probably my favorite part of this card.  I love it!

So, are ya'll ready to be inspired by more wonderful projects?  Then head on over to the US blog to see what's been posted for your viewing pleasure today!

Hugs!

Anybody want a cupcake? :)

So, I've been keping a secret that I finally get to share with ya'll!

I applied to be on the DT over at the Cupcake Inspirations challenge blog.  I didn't think I'd get chosen. I mean, some of the previous designers include Teresa, Piali, Anita, Nina and of course Rachel, just to name a few. My gosh, how awesome are they?!  I'm sure you can imagine my surprise when Rachel sent me an invite to be on her team. Someone pinch me! I'm absolutely thrilled to be a part of the group. Joining me this term are: Lisa, Denise, Nina, VeronicaChris, and our fearless leader, Rachel.  I hope you'll visit all of these wonderfully talented ladies and leave them some love as well.

My projects for the CIC will be posted on Sunday's, starting February 20th. I hope you'll check back then to see my first project.  I mean, c'mon, who doesn't love cupcakes, right?! lol

Yay, I'm a CIC Sweetie!!  *doin the happy dance*

CCC #10 - Merry Christmas

Happy Sunday!

I'm so bumed that this weekend is almost over already.  Weekends always seem to go by so fast these days.  I guess that's what happens when you become a grown up and are busy with everything. lol

I do have another Christmas card for you though.  This week challenge is an inspiration photo.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE

After finishing my card, I realize that it looks almost nothing like the inspiration photo. lol  I took the colors from it, but instead of using a deep pink, I used red and it didn't wind up how I was hoping.  The ornaments are actually the debossed side of a Cuttlebug folder that I inked.  I like the way it turned out, but again, the color is off. :(  I did challenge myself to use no patterned paper for this card and ultimately, like the look.  I just wish I had chosen different colors for everything.

I hope you'll head over to the CCC blog to see what fabulous cards are posted.  I'm always so excited to see everyone's cards each week!

Also, before I go.  I have some exciting news to share tomorrow.  Don't forget to check back to find out what it is! *wink, wink*

Have a wonderful day!

Twisted Sketches #45 - Happy Birthday

Hi ya'll!

This is my second post for today.  Please scroll down for my US project.

This weeks Twisted Sketch is another fabulous sketch!  I love Anam's sketches.  The twist this week is: Two - Anyhow, any way.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

This card didn't turn out anything like how I had it pictured in my head, and I'm glad. lol  I love the results.  I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more butterflies, again, now that Spring is on it's way.  I love the textures on this card.  I wasn't sure they'd all work together, but they look pretty good.

Ready to be inspired by the other designers?  You should head over to the blog to see what gorgeous cards they have posted for you today!

Hugs!

US #92 - God is Our Refuge

Hi everyone!

How are you?  As you read this, I'm spending the day tending to a friend, who just had surgery.  He'll be laid up for a bit, and his famly was unavailable, so I decided to take care of him.  Poor guy.

Anyway, I have another Unscripted Sketches project for you today.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

I'm loving my card today.  It's very simple, and the papers are just gorgeous. Gotta love Webster's Pages for that classic elegance. I have a friend who's feeling a bit bummed about stuff going on in her life, so I think I'm going to send this to her.  Maybe it will cheer her up just a bit.

I hope you'll head over to the US blog to see what everyone else has created for you.  They're all pretty great!

Have a great weekend!

February 4, 2011

Seriously?!

This is what I saw when I looked out my window this morning.  There's a two hour late start at my office, and they're saying we will get a couple more inches by the end of the day.  DFW just had a horrible ice storm, so the snow on top of the ice is going to be interesting, to say the least.  This is Texas, and we're not supposed to get snow dang it!

At least I get to go back to bed for a bit.  So, I guess it's not too terrible after all. :)
