Cardabilities Sketch Challenge #50

Hi ya'll!

This is my second post of the day.  For my Creative Belli challenge post, please scroll down.

The new sketch over at Cardabilities has been posted, and as usual, it's freaking awesome!  I have to admit that I really struggled with my card though.  For all of the details, and to see the gorgeous sketch, click HERE.

As mentioned recently, my creative mojo disappears when work is crazy, so I had my sister choose the colors for this card.  I did  my best with the sketch, but don't feel like I did it justice.  I just hope it looks somewhat decent to all of you, and Karan is ok with it.

I know that my friends at Cardabilities have rocked this sketch.  You should head over there and see what they created.

Hugs!

Creative Belli Challenge #138

Hi everyone!!

Yay for humpday!  Only two days to go until the weekend.  I'm SO happy the week is almost over.  How's yours going?  Got big plans for your weekend?  I'm crossing my fingers that something I've been waiting for happens this weekend. lol :)

I'm excited to share my next Creative Belli challenge project with you today.  This challenge is a Sketch challenge.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I really think these colors are cool together.  I wasn't sure how I was going to pull it off with the sketch, but it all came together really well.  I've had the grey background patterned paper in my stash for almost two years.  I'm so glad I kept a few pieces of it, as it goes perfectly with this color combo.  I've also had the stamp set from Gina K in my possession for almost three years, and this is the first time it has seen ink.  Pittiful, I know. *sigh*  I hope the recipient of this card enjoys it.

I've combined the following challenges into my card today:

Corrosive Challenge #143 - Dimension (all of my panels are on foam adhesive, although you can't really see it)
Creative Inspirations Paint - Paper Piecing
Scrapper's Delights - Bling It Up
Sentimental Sunday #91 - Lace & Pearls (I hope they don't mind that I used rhinestones instead)
CR84FN #49 - Yellow, Kraft & Gray

Please check out what my fellow designers at the Creative Belli challenge have posted for you today.  They're pretty awesome. :)

Back soon with another crafty project!

Use It Tuesday Challenge #26

Hi ya'll!

I hope your week is going well, so far.  It's been crazy, go figure, around here and we were closed at work for inventory yesterday and today.  I've got some catching up to do on Wednesday now for sure.

I have another Use It Tuesday project for you today.  My fellow UIT DT member, Heather, has just welcomed her beautiful baby girl, Claire, into the world.  Thanks to this wonderful event, we're celebrating with this challenge, which is, All About Baby.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I always struggle with masculine cards, but this weekend made me realize that I struggle with baby cards as well.  I had NO clue what to do for this challenge. lol  Then I broke out the distress inks, like I always do when I can't figure out what else to do, and this is the result.  I dig it.  I used an older striped background stamp to add some dimension, and i used up some hoarded patterned papers and a stamp set I've had since last year but had yet to ink it up.  I think this will go to my best friend Drew and his wife, who are expecting their first baby...a boy.

I've combined the following challenges in my card as well:

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #153 - Sketch
Paper Sundaes #109 - Circles
Scrappy Frogs - Die Cuts
Play Date Cafe #120 - Baby Blue, Orangecicle, Basil

I hope you'll head over to the Use It Tuesday to see what my friends have created for you today.  They're wonderful!

Christmas Card Challenge Week #13

Howdy!

It's Sunday, and that brings me to the next challenge over at the CCC blog.  This weeks challenge is to incorporate music on your card.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I have to say I dig this card.  I had a friend help me, by choosing the colors, just for fun.  He chose blue, red and green.  I added the lace for THIS challenge, and like how it turned out.  I seldom round my corners, although I'm not sure why.  I think I might have to try to remember to do that more often.  I like how it looks.

I hope you'll head over to see what my fellow CCC designers have put together for you today.  They're wonderful!

Hugs!

Drunken Stampers #84

Well hello!

Looking at my last post, I am wondering where time has gone.  It has been almost two weeks since I last posted anything.  Goodness, that's bad. lol  It's end of month for us at work, again, and it's so crazy busy that my creative mojo hides from me.  Hopefully, I'll get back to posting more crafty stuff for you soon.

Anyway, I have my last Drunken Stampers card to share with you.  Sadly, I won't be able to stay on for another term, as I am just too busy with work.  I have truly enjoyed being a part of this team, and am thankful for the opportunity.  The challenge this week is Thank You.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I really like these colors together.  The patterned papers I found in these colors actually go quite well together also.  I'm not sure why I hadn't used this MFT doily die yet, but I love it.  It came together pretty quickly, and I'm sure the recipient will enjoy it.

I've combined the following challenges in my card:

Colour Create #90 - Lilac, Blue, White & Kraft
Delightful Challenges - Patterned Paper
Crazy 4 Challenges #125 - 2 Layered Card
Our Creative Corner - Over The Edge (have an element not restricted to the boundaries of your edges)

I hope you'll check out the Drunken Stampers blog to see what my friends have created for you today.  They're all pretty fabulous.
Hugs!

Cardabilities Sketch Challenge #49

Hi again!
This is my second post for the day.  For my Creative Belli challenge post, please scroll down.

I'm excited to announce that the next sketch at Cardibilities has been posted, and it's fabulous!  I'm sure by now you've come to realize how awesome I think Karan's sketches are. lol  For all of the details, click HERE.

I decided to go with a round card today.  It's been a while since I've made a shaped card, and this sketch was great for interpretation.  I'm loving the Nestabilities and the yellow rose I've had in my stash.  Of course, the embossing adds another layer of texture, and the colors are fabulous together.  I love this card!

I've also combined the following challenges into my card.

PDCC #118 - Color Combo (blue & yellow)
Crafty Purple Frog Challenge - Flower Power
Craft Us Crazy #20 - Anything Goes
Phindy's Friday Challenge #92 - Round & Round
The Stamp Man Challenge - Texture
Sweet Stampin' Challenge - CAS

I do hope you'll head over to the Cardabilities blog to see the other gorgeous cards that have been posted.  They're amazing, as usual.

Stay crafty my friends!

Belli Challenge #137

Hi there!

Thanks for stopping by again.  I'm excited to bring you my next Creative Belli challenge card, which is a recipe challenge.  The ingredients are 1 ribbon, 2 designer papers, 3 colors and 4 gems or pearls.  For all of the details, click HERE.

So, there's no embossing, no Nestabilities, not very many layers.  My goal was to step outside my box and do another CAS card.  I'm pretty sure this is one of the most simple, yet very pretty, cards I've made in a while.  I broke out the new Janome Sew Mini I got for Christmas and finally added some stitching.  I'm definitely going to have to practice stitching in straight lines more though.  Until then, I'm going to say that my stitching is "whimsy". lol  I've hade these papers in my stash for a few months, and I've never ever used them.  I've also had the pearls and the ribbon for while as well.  I'm slowly building up my stash again.  Thank goodness! :)

I've also combined the following challenges in my card.

Sketchbook Saturday #49 - Sketch (my VERY loose interpretation)
Card Caravan #12 - Ribbon
Craft Your Days Away #38 - Get Stitchy With It
Sweet Stampin - CAS

I hope you'll head over to see what the other lovely ladies have created today.  They're pretty fantastic, as usual.

Back soon with another crafty project.
Hugs!

Use It Tuesday Birthday Blog Hop!

Greetings!!

We have a little excitement this week at Use It Tuesday…you know why? It is our 1 year Blogiversary and we are celebrating with a blog hop and presents! (And cake with ice cream, too…please excuse the frosting on our keyboards…)

I am stop #8  on the hop. You should have arrived here from Sonya's blog. Be sure to stop by the entire design team’s blogs as well as the Use It Tuesday blog because we have hidden prizes all along the way!

Now, being we are the blog that encourages you to use your stash, we don’t usually do ‘prizes’ per say, but hey, this is a PARTY after all! And what is a party without presents?! (…and the aforementioned cake and ice cream!)

So, how can you win?
  1. Hidden along our hop are prizes on each of our design team member’s blogs! Leave each of us a comment and you will have an opportunity to win. Easy as that!
  2. Play with us! Link your creation to our challenge post using Inlinkz; one lucky participant will win a GRAND PRIZE package donated by our fabulous sponsors!
  3. You MUST be a follower of the Use It Tuesday blog to win!
As always, our winner will chosen by the Inlinkz Froggy. In order to win, you MUST mention that you are playing with us at Use It Tuesday, make a project that meets our guidelines, AND tell us what hoarded supplies you used! And…of course, the grand prize winner will be asked to guest design for us in an upcoming challenge!

Now, on to the challenge! This week is all about our 1 year blogiversary; we want to see a project that has to do with BIRTHDAYS! Simply link your creation to our challenge post using Inlinkz by Friday, Februrary 24th.

For my project, I am lucky enough to be sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps.  If you're not familiar with Bugaboo Stamps, you must check them out!  They're fabulous and have some of the most hilarious and adorable digi stamps available.  I can't tell you how awesome they are with customer service either.  Wonderful company!

For my project, I used the Make It Snappy - Happy Birthday digi.  It's such an adorable image, and fit right in with our theme today.  For my card this week I dug out some stuff I hadn't used in a while.  The white seam binding I've had for at least a year, the sentiment tag has been in my stash for at least five years, and the pink background paper I have had for almost two years.  Talk about hoarding, huh?

You have the chance to win the cute digi I used, from Bugaboo Stamps, by leaving me a comment with your contact information by February 24th. A winner will be randomly chosen, so good luck!

We want to thank our other FABULOUS sponsors, too! You can see their products along our hop so get hopping! The next stop is at Sami's blog.  Hope you play along! And eat some cake! It is calorie free today.

Happy blog hopping!

2012 Christmas Card Challenge Week #10

Hiya!

It's crazy around here today, so this is going to be short and sweet.  I'm going to meet a friend for lunch, and I'm trying to get ready for Super Bowl.  I have to bake something for the gathering I was invited to, but I may not make it, if I don't get it in gear.  I've updated my blog a bit.  I couldn't pass up using this template, it's called "Stephanie".  Perfect! :)

I have my next Christmas Card challenge card for you.  This weeks challenge is to create your own background, of any kind.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I wanted to really showcase the background I wanted to make, so I kept this very CAS.  It's lovely, isn't it?  Blue is my favorite color, so it's no wonder I reach for it often.  Thank goodness blue and white is a great winter color combo too.  I think this is the first card I've made in a long time that didn't have a Nestie or embossing on it.  I guess it didn't kill me not to use them either. lol  I've also combined the following challenges in my card.

Crafty Contagion - Winter/Snow
Card Patterns #151 - Sketch (my loose interpretation)
Jellypark Challenges - Winter Wonderland
Winter Wonderland - Blue & White Color Combo

I do hope you'll head over to the CCC to see what my friends have made today.  They're adorable, as usual!

Stay crafty my friends!

FYI Challenge #23

Greetings my friends!

I hope you've had a good week, and are planning on having an even better weekend.  Mine hasn't been too shabby, and tonight I've got something exciting planned.  I hope everything goes well. :)

I have our newest FYI challenge project for you today.  It's a bit out of my norm, but I like it.  We also have a great new sponsor, KennyK.  Here is a bit about them.

Digi and rubber stamps from KennyK are a fun and edgy way to add the perfect dose of attitude and style to all of your creations!

The creator, the artist, the man: KennyK is a NYC-born professional illustrator who has brought his funky-but-slick, urban-influenced look to the cardmaking and papercrafts world.  His signature style can be seen throughout his various collections of sexy pinup babes, sweet 'n sassy girls, cool rockin' dudes, kid’s stuff, retro characters and more at: KennyKDownloads.com

Kenny & Elena were gracious enough to allow us to use some of their digi's for our projects.  I do hope you'll head over and check them out.  Here is the inspiration photo.  For more details, click HERE.

Believe it or not, this is a church, somewhere overseas.  The reason I chose this photo is because of the architecture, and because it's a really cool looking church.  Here is what I came up with, based on the photo.

As mentioned, I don't normally do "cutesy", but this image had me swimming (haha, another pun) with ideas.  I'm glad I was able to get them onto my card.  It mostly turned out how I pictured it.  I love the little fish.  He's just the cutest!  I am going to give this to my friends son.  He's kind of having a rough time at school right now, so I hope this cheers him up.

My Lovely Lotuses have created some fantastic projects for you today.  Of course, they're always fantastic, in my opinion.  You should head over to see which digi's they used, and what they came up with.

Have a great day!
Hugs!

Belli Challenge #136

Hello!

Welcome to the next challenge at the Creative Belli blog!  This challenge is to include hearts on your card, or you can create a Valentine.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I'm really enjoying the way this card looks.  The lace gives it just the right touch and the black knot ties everything together (pun intended, lol), in my opinion.  I've had these papers in my stash for at least a year, and the heart nesties are some I bought over two years ago, but don't get used that often.  I've also had the background stamp I used under the sentiment since I first started stamping.  Talk about dusting off some old stuff. lol  I will be sending this card to a special someone.  Hope she likes it.  I've included the following challenge in my card as well.

Flutterby Wednesday #187 - Embossing & Must include butterfly, angel or fairy
Crafty Catz #117 - Things with Wings

I do hope you'll pop over to the Belli challenge blog to see what everyone has created for you.  They're beautiful, as always.

Happy Scrapping!
Hugs,
