MIA For A Bit

Hello my friends!

I will be moving this weekend, and have requested some time off from my DT's.  Things will be pretty quiet around here for a couple weeks or so.  Once I get settled, I'll be back to posting regularly.

Don't forget to check back on Saturday for my Unscripted Sketches anniversary blog hop.  It's going to be lots of fun!  Also, don't forget about the latest FYI challenge, happening now, until the 31st.

I will also get back to commenting and visiting once I'm able.  I hope everyone has a wonderful end of March/beginning of April. :)

Hugs!

CIC #104 - Happy Mother's Day

Hi again!

This is my second post of the day.  For my CCC project, please scroll down.

So, I have another Cupcake Inspiration challenge project for you today as well.  It's another beautiful inspiration photo, and we have another fabulous sponsor.

This week we are being sponsored by the super fabulous Paper Pretties.  They have some wonderful stamps and digi stamps, among other items in their store.  This week, they're being very generous in offering a stamp set to our winner.  You should head over and check them out!

And now, here is our gorgeous cupcake inspiration photo.  Talk about beautiful!  And they're CUPCAKES! lol  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I went looking through my stash and found some awesomely coordinating papers.  It was easy to put my card together once I had everything picked out.  Check it.

I used THIS sketch, and love how it turned out.  One of my coworkers needed a Mother's Day card for his mother in law, and I'm pretty sure they'll both enjoy this.  I love this sketch.  I think it's the off centered panel underneith the main one.  Not sure why, but I do. lol  And, it wouldn't be a Steph card without some embossing and a butterfly. :)

I hope you'll had over to the CIC blog to see the amazing projects the other designers have created for you today.  As always, they're nothing short of fabulous!

Have a wonderful day!

CCC #17 - Joy

Howdy!

I hope you've had a good weekend, and gotten everything you've wanted, accomplished.  I have another Christmas Card challenge card for you today.  This week the challenge is No Stamping.  I know, talk about difficult. lol  Of course, the challenge is always optional.  Any Christmas/holiday card will do.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I have to say I'm digging the simplicity of this card.  I used THIS sketch, and it all came together quite quickly after I had figured out what to do with it.  I do hope you'll head over to the CCC blog to see what my friends have come up with for you today.  Maybe you'll get to play along too. :)

Hugs!

CIC # 103 - Love You Muchly

Hola ya'll!

I'm over the moon excited to bring you today's Cupcake Inspiration project.  One of my favorite illustrators is sponsoring us and we got some beautiful images to play with this week.

Our sponsor this week is Heather Ellis, illustrator of Pure Innocence stamps.  Her images are just darling and they are so fun to color and work with.  This week Heather is being so very generous in offering 3 digital images to this weeks winner.  How fantastic is that?!  You should go check out her site.  It's awesome!

Without further delay, I give you this weeks Cupcake Inspiration photo.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

Don't these wonderful cupcakes look absolutely gorgeous?!  I wanted to eat all of them when I saw the photo. lol  There's something about daisies that I just adore.  And, see that cute pop of pink in the back with the butterfly?  Yep...LOVE!  Here is the card I created for this weeks challenge.

I had so much fun with this card.  For some reason, the best photo I got, makes her face look striated.  I'm not sure why that is as it's not that way in real life.  I think it may be time for a new camera.  Anyway, I used THIS sketch loosly, added a flourish, some embossing, an embossed MFT rolled rosette and the sentiment.  Easy to put together, and so much fun.  I think I know just who I'm going to give this to. *wink*

So, now I leave you to make your way over to the CIC blog to see what the other Sweeties have created for you today.  I'm sure you're going to be as inspired as I always am.

Have a wonderful day!!

CCC #16 - Peace On Earth

Good day!

I hope you've had a wonderful weekend, filled with lots of fun things.  I'm packing again, so my fun is at a minimum again this weekend.  I did spend some time with a friend yesterday.  We went to see some live music.  It was a nice night, so we sat outside on the patio.  That was fun.

I have another Christmas card for you.  This weeks challenge is a recipe challenge.  We were to use one designer/patterned paper, stars and rub ons.  I struggled with this one a bit.  I didn't realize that I really didn't have that many rub ons to use. lol  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

My rub ons are the small black scroll looking things in the corners.  Talk about pathetic! lol  I think I'm going to have to go find some rub ons that I can use, that will look better.  I'm happy with my card, but didn't realize how pink it was until after I got my photo taken.  Inside it didn't look that bright.  Go figure.  I think it turned out ok, but might be missing something.  Eh, I'll just leave it alone. lol

The other elves have created some great cards today.  You should head over and check them out. :)

Have a great day!

Twisted Sketches #51 - Social Butterfly

Hi ya'll!

This will be my only post for today.  Please visit the Unscripted Sketches blog to see what fabulous projects everyone has posted for you today.

I bring you this weeks Twisted Sketches card.  The twist this week is: Button - any how, any way.  I loved this sketch, and had a great time with my card, and butterflies, of course.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

I remember in school, one of my teachers called me a social butterfly.  She said I would always speak to everyone, and knew no strangers.  That's still true to this day.  I love making new friends, and I'll speak to just about anyone.  When speaking to my daughter the other day, some of the stuff she said reminded me of how similar we are in personality.  She has now become my social butterfly.  She loves it when I sneak cards or little notes into her backpack to find unexpectedly, so this one will definitely be her next surprise.  The sketch was fabulous, and the sentiment goes perfectly with my favorite, butterflies.

Alright, ready to be inspired again?  I knew you were, so head on over to the Twisted Sketches blog to see what gorgeous cards are posted this week!

Have a great day!

CIC #102 - Welcome Spring

Hi everyone!

Did you remember to reset your clocks?  Daylight savings time kicks in today.  I totally forgot about that until a bit ago.  So, are you ready to be inspired by some more yummy cupcakes and stuff?

This weeks sponsor is Doodle Pantry.  They were kind enough to let us play with some of their images, and my gosh are they darling!  This week they are also being generous in donating a $10 gift certificate to our lucky winner.  You should go check them out.  They're adorable!

For this weeks inspiration photo, we had this to work with.  To check out this weeks challenge, click HERE.

Wow!  Talk about yum-o!  These were absolutely gorgeous to get inspiration from, and I had little trouble creating my project.

I used Spring Song Birdies for my card, and I added the Welcome Spring sentiment from the same set.  This image was a lot of fun to color and I think it turned out really cute.  I like how the pop of black felt offsets the rest of the card.  I embossed all of the base layer together to get the hearts how I wanted them, and then added a butterfly, of course, to finish it off.  I'm also going to enter this into the following challenges.

Kaboodle Doodles #57 - Go Green (Use green)
Corrosive Challenge #106 - Going Green (Use green)
Crafty Cardmakers #41 - Fabric (I used felt)
Papertake Weekly 3/8 - Lemon Zingy (Use yellow)
The Pink Elephant #95 - Springtime
Monday Lunchtime Sketch #164 - Sketch

The other Sweeties have created some amazing projects for you today.  I can't wait for you to head over and check them out.

Hugs!

CCC #15 - Season's Greetings

Hi ya'll!

I'm back to packing again today, ugh.  The good thing is that I'm getting it done ahead of time.  I'm not actually moving until the end of this month.  Thank goodness for plastic totes and garage space to store everything. :)

I have another Christmas card for you today.  The challenge this week is to use Elves.  Keep in mind that the challenge is optional, and any Christmas/winter card will do.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I had a really fun time coloring Elf Oliver from SCRS.  I colored him in non-traditional colors to go with SPCC #90 which was Cherry Cobbler, Bashful Blue and Real Red.  I also used THIS sketch from The Studio card challenge.  I love how he turned out and my card isn't bad either. :)

I hope you'll head over to the CCC blog today to see what everyone else has created for you.  How are you doing with your Christmas card stash so far?

Have a great day!

US#97 - Mikey

Good day to all!

Are you having a good weekend, so far?  I'm packing this weekend, so I'm hoping to get a lot accomplished with that.  I have another Unscripted Sketches project for you today though.  This weeks sketch is another great one, and I had fun putting this layout together.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

Even though I don't see this lil guy anymore, I had one final picture of him to put on a layout.  I will probably give it to Stephen so that he can put it in the book with the rest of the layouts I gave him when we parted ways.  I love Mikey's goofy smile in this photo, and how you can tell he's got a cute, cheesy personality. lol  On the right hand side, I wanted to use patterned paper, but couldn't find one that I really liked (in all my stash, I know, impossible to imagine), so I used a strip of transparency that I've had for ages.  I like the subtle pattern, and how it breaks up the page.  Since it's neutral with black and gray, it went well with the striped strip of patterned paper I added.  A border punched strip, some faux stitching, and the title were added and I was done.  I like how this turned out.

I hope you'll head over to the US blog to see what fabulous projects were created for ya today.  Always so inspiring!

Also, don't forget, you still have until Wednesday to join in on the first FYI challenge.  It's a fabulous inspiration photo. :)

Big hugs!

CIC #101 - Birthday Blessings

Yola!

See, I told you I'd be back later with another card. lol  I'm really excited to bring you another Cupcake Inspiration challenge.  We have another fabulous sponsor, and the cupcake this week is fantastic!

This weeks challenge is sponsored by The Paper Garden.  They have some wonderful stuff in their store, and some adorable stamps and digi images that are fabulous for coloring.  They're being generous enough to offer this weeks lucky winner a $20 gift certificate to the store.  You should go check them out.

And now, for this weeks cupcake inspiration photo.  Isn't this gorgeous?!  Click HERE for this weeks challenge.

Wow, it looks so beautiful and I just want to stare at it. lol  I love the contrast of the icing colors and the deep chocolate of the cupcake itself.  Mmmm!  Here is my card based on this delightful, yummy treat.

I used the Tulip digital stamp set, and colored them with my Copics.  I cut out two of the flowers and popped them up, although you can't really tell from the photo.  I used THIS sketch, and lots of elements for added dimension.  I love this card! The colors are gorgeous together and I love the small pop of yellow, not to mention the Fleur de Lis embossing folder.  I cannot wait for Spring!

You must head over to see what the other Sweeties have created for you today.  So amazing!

Have a great day!

CCC #14 - Christmas Is On Its Way!

Hi ya'll!

I can't believe we've made it to another Sunday already.  I have a feeling this year is going to fly by, just like last year.  Anyway, I have another Christmas card for you today.  This weeks challenge is a sketch, created by our very own Peggy Toole.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

Seeing as how I'm really into the non-traditional look for my Christmas cards, I decided to use the different colors in this flower to build my card.  I'm quite happy with it and love the cork paper leaves.  I'm sorry for another quick post, but I need to get my stuff together and head out, house hunting.  I'll be back later with another card.

Hugs!

Twisted Sketches #49 - Birthday Blessings

Hi everyone!

I hope you're having a wonderful weekend.  This is my second post for today.  For my Unscripted Sketches project, please scroll down.

This week we have another fabulous sketch from Anam for our Twisted Sketches cards.  This weeks twist is: Spring- Any how, any way.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I really struggled with this sketch.  Normally, I don't have an issue, but I think my mojo is slowly disappearing.  I used the colors green and light blue to represent the grass and sky as my take on the twist.  I also used nothing but scraps for this card, and am happy with the results.  I always struggle with masculine cards, but this one is kinda cool.  As a bit of added interest, I embossed each star with a different embossing folder, and I traced around my stars with my Sakura Stardust pen so that they sparkle.  I like it.

Alright, that's it for me today.  Are you ready to be inspired though?  Head over to the Twisted Sketches blog to see what the other talented ladies have created for you today.  So awesome!

US #96 - Laugh Often

Hi everyone!

I've got a new Unscripted Sketches project to share today.  Again, it's going to be a short post as I'm headed out for the day with some friends.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

This week I wanted to try my hand at something different.  If you've followed my blog for any amount of time, you know that I don't stray from cards and layouts much.  Last week, the Just Us Girls challenge was to create an Envelope Gift Box.  I wasn't able to create anything in time to participate in the challenge, but I did create one for this weeks US challenge.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.  I love the classic color combo as well.  I think I'll be creating these more often to give my cards in.  They're easy, and turn out beautifully.

I hope you'll head over to see what everyone else has created for you today.  They're always fantastic!
