Cardabilities Sketch Challenge #48

Hi everyone!

It's Monday, and the start of another crazy week for me.  Fortunately, I'm taking tomorrow off to get some stuff done, and in doing so, it will break up the week for me.  I SO wish I could take more time off during the week.  It would be awesome!  Anyway, I know you're here for the crafty stuff, so I'll get right to it.

Sketch #48 at Cardabilities is up and ready for you to feast your eyes on.  I'll tell you now, it's a beauty!  For all of the details, and to see the sketch, click HERE.

Aside from my Christmas cards every week, I seldom make cards with anyone specific in mind anymore.  I try to make cards to keep in my stash for future use these days.  This card was made with a purpose, though, and for a cause that is near and dear to my heart.  One of my co-workers just returned to work after winning her battle with breast cancer.  She's absolutely amazing, and I am honored to be in her presence everyday.  I've had other friends lose this battle, and it's heartbreaking to see such beautiful people taken away, at such young ages.  I'm not usually an emotional kind of girl, but this card was very difficult for me to put together.  I guess sometimes it just happens.  I do hope she loves it as much as I do.  I had an idea in my head, and this turned out better than expected.

Please head over to see what the other fabulous designers have put together for you today.  They'll blow you away, no doubt!

Don't forget to tell the ones you love how you feel about them!
Much love,

Christmas Card Challenge Week #9 & Drunken Stampers #82

Hi hi!

So, because I'm a slacker, and I completely spaced off my DT obligations this week due to work, I am combining two of my challenges into one.  I apologize for the shortness of this post, but I have to go back to work this morning.  Boo! :(

The challenges this week were to Use Your Favorite Technique at the CCC and Use New Crafty Supplies at DS.  My favorite technique, which I'm sure by now you know, is embossing.  Everything on my card is new, with the exception of the bakers twine, which I've had in my stash for a while.  I'm diggin' how this card turned out.  I've also combined the following challenges in my card.

Totally Papercrafts - Pearls & Lace
Fussy & Fancy #55 - Polka Dots
Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge #143 - Sketch (I turned it sideways)

I hope you'll check out both design team blogs to see what my friends have all created for you this weekend.  All of them are super fab!

Hugs!

Use It Tuesday's Challenge #24

Hi y'all!

How's your week going so far?  Hopefully, things are going well, and you're not having too much issue.  It's been a hectic week for me already, thanks to the end of month stuff, but I guess I can't complain.  We'll be done by the end of today, and then things will go back to normal again.

I'm excited to bring you my next project for Use It Tuesday's.  This challenge is All About Love.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I will be giving this to my Valentine this year, I love how it turned out.  It is a bit busy for me,  but I'm not going to cange it.  I dug out some old Hero Arts stamps, some old and forgotten patterned papers and a doily die I bought at least six months ago that has never been used.  All in all, it came together nicely.  I hope the recipient of this card likes it.  I've also included the following challenges in my card.

Just Us Girls #120 - Red, Pink & White
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle - Have A Heart
Card Makin Mamas - Something Old
Raise The Bar #88 - "Ring" in the New Year (use circles)
Wags & Whiskers #71 - Valentine/Love
Last But Not Least Challenge - Something New (the bling from Zva is new, and so is the lattice die from PTI thanks to my FYI friend Sara)

I do hope you'll head over to see the other fantastic projects posted by the UIT Design Team.  They're amazing!

Have a great week!

2012 Christmas Card Challenge Week #8

Yola!

So, in the craziness that is my life, again, I didn't get around to making my Christmas card for this week. :(  This weeks challenge is Coloring.

You can use any medium you like.  Of course, as always, all challenges are optional.  As long as you create a new Christmas Holiday or Winter card, you're good. :)

For this weeks challenge, click HERE.  I do hope you'll head over to see what everyone has created for you today.  They're all pretty amazing with their colored images.

Have a great day!

Day 19 & 20

Hello my friends!

Wow, how quickly time goes by when you're working a lot. lol  I didn't even realize, until I sat down to write this post, that it has been 6 days since I last uploaded my daily photo.  I have two to share today and am hoping to get back on track and post daily again.

Day 19
I've been upgraded at work, so I had to re-decorate my new office.  I'm thinking I will frame a few of my favorite cards, that have been sent to me over the years, and hang them.  Loving the new stuff so far though.

Day 20
Hello beautiful!  As I returned from lunch today, this is what I saw sitting in our parking lot.  When I asked the receptionist who had delivered my late birthday present, she just laughed, and told me to keep dreaming.  Isn't it gorgeous?  I wish I made the kind of money that the owner of this beauty does.  *sigh*

Have a wonderful weekend!

Belli Challenge #135

Hola!

How is your week going?  It's humpday, so we've only got two more days until the weekend.  Yay!  Today I have my next project for the Creative Belli challenge to share with you.  This challenge is: Frames.  You can alter a frame, or frame something on a layout or card, or use a frame in anything you want to create.  The idea is to create something using your neglected, hoarded or unused stash.  You can find all of the details for this challenge HERE

For my project this week, I decided to alter a frame.  I seldom do anything but cards these days, so it was a nice change to create this.  I used an old book page as my background paper, then stamped my flourishes randomly around the edges.  I added my lace, ribbon bow, and flowers and was done.  I had hoped to do this as a gift for my sister, before Christmas, but didn't get around to it.  I know she'll love it.  The ribbon, lace and stamps have been in my stash for a couple years, so I was happy to break them out and use them.

If you haven't seen what the other ladies have created at the Belli blog, you should go check them out.  They're gorgeous!

Back soon with another something crafty!

Cardabilities Sketch Challenge #47

Hello!

This is my second post of the day.  For my CCC post, please scroll down.

I'm super excited to bring you my first card for Cardabilities.  The sketches Karan has created for us over the next three months are absolutely gorgeous.  To see the sketch we used for this challenge, click HERE.  It's beautiful, and leaves tons of room for interpretation.  Here is what I came  up with.

Of course, now that Spring is on its way, I had to start using my butterflies again.  Don't be surprised if most of my cards over the next couple months all have butterflies on them. lol  I left my card without a sentiment so that I could use it as a "last minute" type card for someone.  I've got plenty of other cards in my stash now, so I figured one without a sentiment wouldn't hurt. lol

My fellow Cardabilities designers are absolutely amazing!  I'm so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful group of women.  You must check out their cards, posted on the blog today.

Back soon with another crafty project for ya!
Hugs!

2012 Christmas Card Challenge Week #7

Greetings!

I'm happy to bring you my next Christmas Card challenge card.  This is going to be short and sweet, as I have another post scheduled later today, and I've got tons to do today.  The challenge this week is flourishes.  You can find all of the details for this challenge HERE.

Here is my card for this week.

This is my interpretation of this months SFYTT.  I've decided to try to play along with Jen's sketches more faithfully this year.  Hopefully, it works out.  I'm really loving these papers.  They're so...Christmas! lol  I've combined the following challenges in my card as well.

Crafty Catz #115 - Something New (my bling is new, I stocked up recently lol)
Delicious Doodles #10 - All Things New (see above)
Aud Sentiments #45 - Must use sentiment & Scraps (most of the papers on my card are scraps)
Colour Create #87 - Red, Cream & Sage Green (hopefully, my colors are close enough)
Digi Doodle Shop #90 - Embossing

Hope you'll head over to the CCC blog to see what my fellow designers have created for you today.  They're really doing a fabulous job with the challenges each week. :)

Back in a bit with another card!

Drunken Stampers #81

Hi everyone!

It's Saturday, yay!!  I can't even tell you how excited I am that I got to sleep in a bit today. lol  I know, I'm so easily amused.  Anyway, hopefully, you're having a good weekend so far. :)

It's time for our first Drunken Stampers challenge of the year.  This challenge is Love.  Aww, how sweet!  For all of the details on this challenge, click HERE.

I was happy to get a break from the Christmas/Winter/Holiday cards that I had been creating lately.  Valentine's Day is just around the corner now, so I guess it's good to get a head start on my lovey dovey type cards.  I used THIS sketch, and love how it turned out.

My fellow designers have created some amazing projects for you today.  Why not head over and check them out?

Back soon with another crafty something!

Day 13

Hiya!

It's Friday the 13th!  And, in true form for me, if anything could have gone wrong, it did.  Fortunately, I have some awesome co-workers, who help make the environment a lot of fun, even in stressful situations.

Day 13

This is one of my favorite people.  She's been my friend, not just a co-worker, for the last 7 or so years.  You wouldn't guess by the smiles on our faces, that we had a major emergency going on, would ya? lol

Hope you had a good week!

January 12, 2012

Day 12

Greetings!

I saw this on my co-workers desk this morning, and had to use it for my photo today.

Day 12

So true!

Have a great day!

Day 11

Hi everyone!

I won't take up too much time talking tonight.  I just want you to enjoy my photo for today.

Day 11

This was the view on my drive home this afternoon.  Thank the Lord for such beautiful sights! (And yes, I sure did take it while driving, but I couldn't help myself.)

Hugs!

Day 9 & 10

Hi ya'll!

Please scroll down for my UIT challenge post.  I'll make this short and sweet today.

Day 9
This is what three days worth of shipping looks like, when I'm not allowed to ship for over a week due to inventory.  Yep, each one of those stapled packets is one shipment.  No wonder I work 16 hour days!!

Day 10
I've tried to cut back on drinking Dr. Pepper, which is my favorite.  After a long week last week, and a case of the "Tuesdays" (almost as bad as Mondays sometimes), I couldn't help myself.  Ahh...

Have a great evening!

Use It Tuesday's Challenge #23

Yola!!

How is your week coming along?  Hopefully, you've started the year off peacefully and things aren't too crazy.  As I'm sure you've come to learn by now, I'm crazy busy with work, go figure. lol  Fortunately, I get to come home and create stuff every night, which helps keep my stress level down.

I'm excited as today is my first posting for Use It Tuesday's.  This challenge is all about winter.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I wanted something simple, and clean for my card.  I was slightly burned out from all of the Christmas/Winter cards I'd made over the last few weeks, but when I saw THIS sketch, things just fell into place.  I used up some older ribbon I had been hoarding, along with an older stamp/die combo from Verve that had never seen ink.  The patterned paper I used is also from a while back.  My goal is to create a card for each one of these challenges, using ONLY hoarded or neglected scrap supplies I've had for a while.  Wish me luck! lol

I hope you'll head over and see what everyone else has created today.  I must say, I was totally blown away by the creativity and talent of this group.  Very diverse as well.

I'll be back soon with another crafty project.
Hugs!

Day 8

Hi ya'll!

This is my second post of the day.  For my CCC post, please scroll down.

Day 8
This is one of my favorite meals ever!  I love my guacamole with some of the tostadas that my company makes.  Not very calorie friendly, but oh so good.  I'll follow up with a piece of fruit for dessert, instead of a slice of cheesecake. lol

Have a good evening!

2012 Christmas Card Challenge Week #6

Greetings!

How are ya'll?  I hope everyone has had a good weekend, getting crafty, hopefully.  I have my next Christmas card challenge card for you, which is to use lace.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

Here is my card.

I'm digging the traditional colors provided by the papers I chose.  I think that the lace adds an elegant touch, and the felt snowflake is adorable.

This is a short post for me today as I have things I need to get done, thanks to procrastinating. lol  I do hope you'll head over to the CCC blog to see what everyone else has created for you today.  :)

Day 7

Happy Saturday!

Here's my photo for today.

Day 7

This sweet girl lays on the rug in my room, every Saturday morning, while I'm crafting.  Isn't she just adorable?!  She has the most awesome, sweet, loving personality I've ever seen in a dog, and I {heart} her.  That's my Jersey girl! (even though she's not really mine, lol)

Hugs!

More exciting news!

I mentioned being pretty busy this year, craft wise.  Well, now I get to share more exciting news on that topic.

I've also been invited to be on the DT at Use It Tuesdays!  I'm super excited to be on another DT that challenges me to use my neglected, hoarded, or new stash frequently.  Our challenges are bi-weekly on Tuesdays.  There are some amazing women on this team as well, and I'm honored to be able to work with them also.

My blog should be fairly busy for the next few months with all of my design team postings. lol  I hope you'll come along with me for the ride.  :)

Hugs!

Day 6

Howdy!

Here's my photo for today.

Day 6

I overslept this morning.  Didn't even hear my alarm, at all.  Of course, this caused me to leave my house later than usual, and then I had the pleasure of sitting in DFW traffic for over an hour.  Needless to say, I was late for work. lol  Thank goodness it's Friday!

Hugs!

Day 4 & 5

Hello friends,

This is my second post of the day.   Please scroll down for my FYI challenge post.

I've gotten a day behind on my daily photos, so I've got two for you again, today.

Day 4
After the auditors came and inspected things, there were some discrepancies with our inventory.  This is how I spent my day yesterday, recounting.  Doesn't my co-worker look like he's having a blast?  Isn't my harness stylish?!

Day 5
I'm surrounded by color, yet after working 16 hours a day for the last few days, this is how my creative mojo feels.  I'll be glad to get back to a normal routine once our end of year stuff is over.

Hugs!

FYI Challenge #21

Greetings my friends!

How are ya'll?  Have you gotten the chance to play with some of your new goodies yet?  Slowly, I'm getting around to using some of my new crafty supplies, so I'm a happy girl. :)

I'm excited to bring you the next challenge at For Your Inspiration!  Since it's the first challenge of the month, this challenge is also sponsored.  We're blessed to be sponsored by the wonderful Wax Fruit Company!  If you haven't checked out this cute digi company, you must do so!  They have some beautiful images and papers.

All about me & the Wax Fruit Company...

I'm Arielle, I work full time and design in the wee hours of the morning. I was born in southeast Alabama, moved away to New Orleans a couple years & northern California for 5 & came back 'home' to settle down. I'm married to Jeff, truly the love of my life & we have 2 children - Alex (3.5 yrs) and Maisie Grace (2 yr). Life is so much more interesting and amazing through the eyes of your children!

I love to stamp & paper craft, and began digital scrapping this past year. But before that I was an artist (printmaking/painting/drawing) for fun and digital graphic designer by trade. Now I doodle around and make some digital stamps and sentiments here & there. I've been on a break the last couple months from image designing, but am looking forward to starting the new year with some brand new images!

And, here is the inspiration photo we were to work with.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I really liked the arches in this photo.  The window in the back, letting the light shine in on everything, is also beautiful.  It looks like everything is glowing in that area.  The old architecture of the balcony and archways are just stunning.  What a fabulous photo!

Here is what I came up with.

Arielle was super generous in allowing us girls to use some of her images for this challenge.  I chose Gammaw's Ornaments.  I printed them onto a couple different patterned papers and then pieced them together.  I added a bit of silver and a pearl, and was done.  I really like how this turned out.  I may just have to paper piece more often. lol

I do hope you'll head over to the FYI blog to see what amazing projects have been posted.  They're more than fantastic!

Back soon with another crafty project!
Hugs!
