2012 Christmas Card Challenge Week #26

Greetings!

It's time for another Christmas Card challenge!  I have a short post for you today, as I'm getting ready to BBQ and hangout by the pool, with a friend.  This weeks challenge is Bling.  For all of the details, click HERE

This is my very first one layer card.  I used masking tape around the edges, so that I'd have the framed look.  I used my distress inks for the emboss resist technique I wanted to try.  The sentiment was embossed as well.  I have to say, this turned out better than I expected.  I love it!  I've combined the following challenges in my card as well.

Drunken Stampers #89 - There Can Only Be One (one layered cards)
Sketchbook Saturday #61 - Sketch (my loose interpretation of it anyway)
Crazy 4 Challenges #138 - One Layer
Marks Finest Papers #109 - Emboss Your Main Image
52 Christmas Card Throwdown #5 - Embossing

I hope you all are having a wonderful, and safe, holiday weekend!
Hugs!

Creative Belli Challenge #144

Hi ya'll!

It's time for another Creative Belli challenge!  I love these challenges.  Having to remember to use the stuff I absolutely HAD to have, and then forgetting I had them is very helpful.  This challenge is weddings.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I had a friend pick the colors for me, and this is what he chose.  Pink and chocolate always go well together, so it wasn't hard to get this card to work out.  I used THIS sketch, and love my card.  The flower, lace and chocolate ribbon have all been in my possession for over a year.  I'm glad I finally got to use some of it.  I don't know anyone who's getting married anytime soon, but at least I have a card for the box, just in case.

I do hope you'll head over to the Belli blog to see what projects the other designers have put together for you.  Beautiful stuff!!

Hugs!

Use It Tuesday Challenge #32

Hello hello!

It's time for another Use It Tuesday challenge!  I'm loving these challenges, as they force me to use my forgotten, and hoarded stash.  The challenge is to use two hoarded items.  For all of the details, click HERE.

This card was made for some friends of mine.  I like how it turned out, even if it doesn't have a ton of stuff on it.  I think it's a cute idea, and I hope they like it.  My two hoarded items are the black and white alpha stickers, and the Nestabilities that I used to cut down the maps.  I've had both of these in my stash for over two years.  The arrow sticker has also been in my possession for at least that long, and this is the first time it's seen ink.

I do hope you'll head over to the UIT blog to see what everyone else has created.  They're pretty cool!

Hugs!

Unscripted Sketches Challenge #159

Happy Saturday everyone!!

I'm so excited that today is Saturday!  It's been a rough week, and I'm super glad that I got to sleep in a bit today, and that I get to sleep in again tomorrow.  *happy sigh*  What are all of you up to this weekend?  Anything new and exciting?

Since it is Saturday, I have another Unscripted Sketches project for you.  There's a piggyback challenge this week, to use ink.  For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

So, I definitely used ink on this card.  Tons of ink, to be exact. lol  I love the graduated colors on the main/sentiment panel.  This card also doubles as my FYI challenge card from this week.  For the details on that, click HERE.  I needed some thank you's for my coworker, so this will go into the basket for her.  :)

I do hope you'll head over to see what the other US designers have created for you today.  They're very cool!

Stay crafty my friends!

Happy Birthday Debbie!

Good day my friends!!

I will be back soon with my CCC post.  Unfortunately, I'm running behind.

What I do have is a special post for a special friend.  The wonderful Debbie Standard is celebrating a milestone birthday.  And what better than to make her a birthday card, right?  I have been on several design teams with Debbie over the last couple years, and she's one of the nicest women I know.  She always creates such gorgeous projects, and always takes the time to leave sweet comments on our projects.  So, we at For Your Inspiration, decided we needed to do a little something special for Debbie today.  Each of us has created a birthday card for her.  It's not really a blog hop, but you can see all of my designers birthday cards, by clicking on their names below.

So, my sweet friend Debbie, Happy Birthday to you!!

I LOVE the CAS look to this card.  I hope she loves receiving it as much as I enjoyed creating it for her.  You can't tell from the photo, but each butterfly has a different pattern.  I used distress inks, in various colors, and then stamped with water on each one, with a different stamp.  It's really pretty in real life.

Don't forget to check out the cards my Lovely Lotuses have created for her.  You can click on their names below, to see them.

Have a wonderful day!

Unscripted Sketches Challenge #158

Hello!

Welcome to the next sketch challenge for Unscripted Sketches.  This weeks sketch was a bit difficult for me, but in the end, I made it work.  I'm just hoping you can see the sketch in my card. lol  For all of the details on this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

I think I've had this paper in my possession, for over a year and a half, maybe?  I've wanted to use it over and over again, but could never get it to work.  I think it worked perfectly to help me with the sketch.  It's not my usual color combo, but I used the below colors from Design Seeds, to challenge myself.

I do hope you'll head over to the US challenge blog to see my fellow designers take on the sketch.  They're pretty cool.

I'm On A Roll!

Hiya!

I've got another crafty post, just for fun.  Isn't that interesting. lol  I needed one more Mother's Day card for my supervisor at work.  His wife is pregnant, and they're having a girl, and she LOVES pink.  I'm not a huge pink fan myself, but it worked out, and I'm sure she'll love it.  He sure did.

I've always known pink and chocolate look great together, but I have to say, I dig the pink and kraft color combo too.  I'm actually quite fond of this card, even though it is super pink. lol  Gotta love it when something comes together quickly, and how you pictured it.  I've combined the following challenges in my card:

Celebrate The Occasion #62 - Mother's Day
Going Grey With Scrap Creations - Happy Mother's Day
Tuesday Throwdown #97 - Motherly Love
Scrapalicious, USA - Mother, I Love You :)
Stampin' Royalty #123 - Punches

I've got a couple posts scheduled for this weekend, but I'll be gone for most of it.  I do hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hugs!

Just For Fun :)

Hi everyone!

It's Thursday, which means there's only one day left in the week.  Yay!  It's supposed to be a nice weekend in the DFW area this weekend, so I'm looking forward to just hanging out, and being a bum.  Maybe I'll grill something, with friends.  Not sure what to do just yet. :)

So, earlier in the week, I was caught up on design team work, and got to play along with some challenges.  Just for fun.  As mentioned before, I don't get to do that too often, so I'm always happy when I do.  Here is the card I created.

I'm digging the CAS look to this.  It turned out how I pictured it, and I'm happy.  I hope the recipient of this card likes it.

I have a quick question.  Do you guys go looking for challenges to include in your card, or do you create something and then go find challenges that fit with what you've created?  Or maybe both?  I usually go hunting for challenges before I create my project, to try to step outside my normal box.  I was just curious.

Below are the challenges I've combined into my card, along with the color combo from Design Seeds (have I mentioned I LOVE this site?!).

The Craft's Meow - Sketch
Creatalicious Challenge #33 - Butterflies & Add Some Flowers
I Brake For Challenges - Florals
Pretty Little Ribbon Shop #10 - Blooms & Butterflies
Through The Craftroom Door #10 - Happy Mother's Day
Kaboodle Doodles #118 - Honoring Mothers
The Pink Elephant #147 - All About Mom

I'll be back soon with another crafty project.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Creative Belli Challenge #143

Yay, it's Wednesday!

I'm always glad when Wednesday arrives, as it means the week is half over!  I hope all of you have had a good week, so far, and are planning lots of crafty time this coming weekend. :)

I have another Creative Belli challenge project for you today.  The challenge is Baby.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I absolutely love this!  I'm not sure why, but I just do.  I used some Nestabilities I have had in my possession for over a year and a half now, to create the "Boy" sentiment layer, and I used some old papers for it as well.  Everything on my card is stuff I've had for over a year too.  My co-worker and his wife just welcomed a son to their family, so I think this is perfect timing for this card.  I hope they like it.  I've also combined the following challenges in my card.

The Craft Place - One for the boys.
2 Sisters #90 -  Anything goes
Great Impressions #3 - Anything goes
Craft Your Days Away #4 - For Children

I do hope you'll head over and see what wonderful projects the other Belli girls have created for you today.  They're adorable!

See you soon with another something crafty!

Use It Tuesday Challenge #31

Hiya!

I'm back today with the next challenge at Use It Tuesday.  The challenge is All About Mom.  For all of the details, click HERE.

This card turned out exactly like I pictured it in my head.  That doesn't happen to me that often, so I'm always quite surprised when it does. lol  I've had these stamps for about a year now.  The doily, button and ribbon have all been in my stash for at least six months each.  Here's to using up more hoarded stash!  I used the colors from the photo below, and I've combined the following challenges in my card as well.

Raise The Bar #103 - Text/Letters/Type (the background is stamped with a text background stamp)
Paper Sundaes #119 - Mother's Day
Delightful Challenges - Mother's Day
Sentimental Sundays #101 - For A Special Woman

The other designers have put together some awesome Mother's Day projects.  I do hope you'll get the opportunity to head over and check them out.

2012 Christmas Card Challenge Week #23

Hello hello!

Welcome to the next Christmas Card challenge!  I've got a short post today as I've got some friends coming over to swim and bbq, and I need to get things ready.  The challenge for this week is to create a humorous Christmas card.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I've had this Bugaboo digi for a while, but had never gotten the chance to use it.  I think it's perfect for this weeks challenge.  I used the colors from the picture below, and think it turned out pretty well.  I love Design Seeds!  And, I love the non-traditional look to my card that I got from this color palette, of course.

I do hope you'll head over to see what other funny cards are posted today.  I think they'll bring a smile to your face.

Hugs!

Unscripted Sketches Challenge #157

Yola!!

I hope your weekend is off to a fabulous start!  I was up early this morning so that I could participate in a challenge issued to my community group at church, by our church pastors.  The challenge was for all of us to take 15 minutes, at the same time on the same day, and pray for each individual in the group.  Since everyone in my group is super busy, the only time everyone was available was today at 7:15am.  I would have loved to have slept in, as I don't get to do that often, but it was well worth the sacrifice.  I'm feeling cleansed and refreshed, and content.  Anyway, onto my crafty post for today.  Thanks for letting me share. :)

There is another wonderful sketch posted at Unscripted Sketches today.  For all of the details, click HERE.

When I first started my card, this was not how I pictured it in my head. lol  I was hoping to have things turned around, a bit, but it didn't work out as planned.  Instead, this is what I wound up with, and I'm happy with it.  I've wanted to use this daisy image forever, but hadn't really been able to make it work before either.  I recently debated on selling all of my Copic markers, but am glad now that I didn't.  A doily, some lace, and a butterfly, and I was done.  This will be another card for church as I think it has the perfect sentiment to go there.  I've combined the following callenges in my card as well.

Kaboodle Doodles #117 - Add some dimension (image and butterfly are popped up)
The Pink Elephant #146 - Spring
Papertake Weekly - Anything goes
My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge #55 - Embossing
Whimsy Inspiration #37 - Spots and Dots

I hope you'll go check out the sketch and see what my friends have come up with for you today.  They're fantastic!

Back soon with another something crafty!
Blessings!

FYI Challenge #29

Hey ya'll!

I hope the week has been good to you.  I'm happy to say that it has been quite nice for me this week.  The first week of the month is usually nice and quiet.  Thank goodness!

I have another FYI project for you today.  Since it's the first challenge of the month, we have a new sponsor as well.  For all of the details, click HERE.

Here is the new inspiration photo.

I loved the contrast between the colors.  The different shades of greens and browns are fabulous.  I also like the sharp peaks in the back, set against the cloudy sky.  How awesome to be living on the plane, like those who've built houses there.  The waterfall is the perfect touch to a gorgeous photo.  Below is the card I created based on the photo.

I tried to include the textures as well as the greens and browns.  I paper pieced the digi image from Fresh Brewed Designs, and cut it out so that I could pop it up on dimensionals.  I wasn't sure what I was going to use this card for just yet, so I left it without a sentiment.  I dig it.  I have also included the following challenges in my card.

Crazy 4 Challenges #134 - Paper Piecing
Paper Sundaes #118 - Ribbon & Pearls
Stampin Sisters In Christ #137 - Include green
Freshly Brewed Challenge #94 - Tic Tac Toe (I chose buttons, Fresh Brewed image and patterned paper)

I do hope you'll head over to the FYI blog to see what gorgeous creations are posted.  They're all super fab!  As usual. :)

Stay crafty my friends!
