Hi ya'll!
For some reason this didn't go live at 7am, like I scheduled it. I guess Blogger wasn't in the mood to cooperate with me today. lol I am excited as today is my Friday, and we get Monday off for the holiday. That's a whole 4 days that I get to sleep in. I'm also super excited because R and Hulk will be here tomorrow. I cannot wait to see them. I have to be honest, even though I'm independent and strong willed, this long distance thing is hard. I miss him more and more each day. I'm thankful that we do get to see each other about every other month though. And fortunately, my daughter keeps me busy. I am also happy to be creating regularly again. That's another fantastic distraction.
So here is the next card I have to share with you.
I'm not sure I (personally) could get any more CAS. Look at all of that crisp, clean, white space. It was very difficult not to add more stuff to this. I had to walk away and put my supplies up, before that happened. lol I know exactly who will be receiving this card, very soon. I hope they like it as much as I do. :-)
I'm happy to participate in the following challenges.
The Card Concept #17: Photo Inspiration (Be Inspired)
The Pink Elephant #265: Anything Goes
CASology Week #110: Letter (I chose a monogram as my interpretation)
Pals Paper Arts #217: Sketch
I don't think I'll have much to post over the next few days. I do hope everyone has a safe, and happy holiday weekend.
Stay crafty my friends!

You Color My World
Happy weekend ya'll!
I hope everyone is off to a great start to their weekend. I am SO thankful to be done with my week of SQF/HACCP training, and think I absorbed enough to pass my test this coming Wednesday. Crossing my fingers!
We had tons of reading to do to keep up with the class, that I barely got time to make anything last week. I was super exhausted last night, so I was in bed by 10pm. At 2am, I was wide awake with an idea, and so I got up and made the following card. I really love how it turned out.
It turned out exactly how I pictured it in my head. Sometimes you just have to go with those random ideas when they hit, huh? lol After looking at this photo, I think that I may add a couple of sequins. It would add just a little bit of something. I used the colors from this weeks Pals Paper Arts challenge (#215), and think they look fabulous together.
I'm off to Google bakeries in the Dallas area, so that I can schedule an appointment to try to get our wedding cake picked out. If anyone knows of a good one in that area, please let me know! I lived there for years, but I never had a reason to order a cake before, and could use the help.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Hello!
How has your weekend been? It has been pretty nice around here. We went to the Albert City Thresherman's show yesterday, and then we were bums the rest of the day. I woke up this morning wanting something different, for breakfast. So, I made pumpkin spice waffles with scrambled eggs and bacon, and I can't even tell you how excited I was. Everything was delicious! The house smelled of pumpkin pie, and it reminded me of the holidays. It made me miss my sister and I can't wait to see her. We usually get together for Thanksgiving each year. My daughter said she was woken up by the smell, and couldn't wait to come downstairs to see what was going on. What a great way to be woken up, in my opinion. :-)
I was happy to get back into my craft space yesterday afternoon. There were so many challenges I wanted to participate in this last week, but just didn't have the time. Here is one that I did get done though.
This really took me a while to put together, as I wasn't happy with my first, or second, attempts. This didn't even turn out how I pictured it in my head either, but I think it turned out ok. The colors were definitely challenging for me, and I'm sad to say I used the last couple pieces of Wild Wasabi I had on hand. I will have to see how I can get more of this cardstock. It was one of my favorite colors. I needed a little bit of something, but wasn't sure what, so I used strips of verse from an old bible I had. This is the second time I've cut pages out of a bible, so I'm hoping no one gets offended. I do have several others that we do not use for anything other than worship, I promise!
I'm going to enter this into the following challenges.
ODBDSLC21: Sketch
Word Art Wednesday #144: Anything Goes
Pals Paper Arts #214: Island Indigo, Crisp Cantaloupe & Wild Wasabi
I'm off to try to put another card together, and then cook meals for the week. I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday afternoon.
Hugs!

Celebrate
Greetings!
Happy 4th of July to all of my American friends! A very special Thank You to all of those who have served, and are serving, to protect our freedom!
I hope you're enjoying the time off with family and friends. I don't have much planned for today. I'm just going to relax, and play with all of my new goodies, as much as I can. I wanted to participate in a few challenges I saw, and use one of the Design Seeds color combos (below) that goes well with this holiday week. Here is what I put together.
I'm still struggling with my photos. I think I may have to just break down and pay for a real light box. This way, my photos will be consistent. Either way, this card turned out exactly how I pictured it in my head. That's always a plus for me. That doesn't happen very often. lol I really wanted to use the new stuff that arrived in my Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit, and am glad that I was able to pull it off. I suppose this card could be use for several different occasions, not just 4th of July or birthday. I'll just keep it in my card stash, and use it when I need to.
I've combined the following challenges in my card today:
Color Q #196 - Real Red, More Mustard, Night of Navy, Crumb Cake & White (Hoping I'm close enough)
Stampin Royalty #183 - Anything Goes
Pals Paper Arts #162 - Pacific Point, Real Red & Crumb Cake (Hoping I got close enough, again)
I'm off to make more stuff, and eat some amazing food that we've prepared for today. Later, I suppose I'll leave the house, and go watch the fireworks with my mom somewhere. Maybe. :-)
Just a quick reminder, before I forget. Have you checked out the new challenge at House of Cards? I hope you will, and if you can, play along with us.
Enjoy your day!

Creative Belli Challenge #144
Hi ya'll!
It's time for another Creative Belli challenge! I love these challenges. Having to remember to use the stuff I absolutely HAD to have, and then forgetting I had them is very helpful. This challenge is weddings. For all of the details, click HERE.
I had a friend pick the colors for me, and this is what he chose. Pink and chocolate always go well together, so it wasn't hard to get this card to work out. I used THIS sketch, and love my card. The flower, lace and chocolate ribbon have all been in my possession for over a year. I'm glad I finally got to use some of it. I don't know anyone who's getting married anytime soon, but at least I have a card for the box, just in case.
I do hope you'll head over to the Belli blog to see what projects the other designers have put together for you. Beautiful stuff!!
Hugs!

Here is the card I made for this week.
I wanted to go with a "less is more" kind of thing. This is as one layered as I get. lol I kept it simple, and without a sentiment for now. I couldn't decide on what I wanted to say, so I figured I'd leave it alone, until I knew what I wanted to do. I love the simplicity of this card. The traditional Christmas colors are beautiful together, and the debossing adds just the right touch, for me. I think I might make a few of these, in different colors maybe, and take them to work. I've combined the following challenges into my card as well:
Colour Create #85 - Red, White & Green
Pals Paper Arts #122 - Cherry Cobbler, Always Artichoke & Very Vanilla
Delightful Challenges 11/30 - Let It Snow
Raise The Bar #86 - It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas
As always, the cards posted on the CCC blog are fabulous. I hope we can tempt a few of you to play along with us each week. Either way, I would recommend at least checking them out. :)
Hugs!

CC302, PPA #74 & PWC 12/21 - Happy Birthday
Hi everyone!
Did you have a lovely Christmas holiday? Mine was fantastic. I feel so happy, and content with everything at the moment. Ever had that total feeling of peace within? That's where I am right now. *happy sigh* I'm happy that I got the chance to get some extra crafting in too. Lately, I've felt as if I am only creating projects to meet my DT obligations, and I was getting in a rut. Thank goodness for 4 day weekends. :)
I needed a birthday card for another co-worker. She's one of my favorite people in the office, and she loves the color red. Can't go wrong with the classic red, white and black color combo. I love how this card turned out. It's simple, and elegant, and I know she'll love it. She's one of my biggest fans and I wanted to make sure she got a nice card. I used THIS sketch, THIS color challenge, and am also going to enter it into THIS challenge. I'm off to work, but I'll be back with another crafty project soon.
Hugs!
