Hello my friends!
This is my second post for today. Please scroll down to see my Word Art Wednesday card. :-)
I hope you're having a good week, and are looking forward to the weekend. I made a few cards recently, but hadn't had an opportunity to get pictures until this afternoon. This frigid weather, and two feet of snow, have made it almost impossible to get outside. I think this spot on my desk at work will actually be a great place to snap a few pics from now on though.
Here is the card I have to share with you today.
I have been practicing with the CAS style again, and tried my hand at a masculine card for a change. I really think this card is quite nice. And, I even watercolored for the first time! I've had these Winnie & Walter stamps in my stash for a while now, and was happy to finally ink them up. Love the bold, silver sentiment on this one. The recipient of this card is a pilot, so I hope he enjoys it. I'm going to submit this card for the following challenges.
Seize The Birthday: Anything Goes
CAS-ual Fridays #136: Watercolor
Crazy 4 Challenges #271: Masculine Birthday
Just Us Girls #278: Sentiment As Focus
Mod Squad Challenge: Use Water (I watercolored the map image)
That's all for me today. I'm off to work, and then hitting the gym with my co-workers. I hope you have a wonderful day!
Hugs!

Thankful For You
Hello my friends!
I hope you're having a good weekend, and creating lots of crafty stuff. It's freezing here, which is perfect for staying indoors, making a big pot of soup, watching movies, and making stuff. I got some time in my craft room yesterday, which I was thankful for, and I'm hoping to spend more time in there today.
I'm excited to share my card today. It's my very first shaker card! Shaker cards continue to be more and more popular, so I thought I'd give it a try. Here is how it turned out.
I am pretty excited, although I'm thinking that next time, I should not add glitter. I rubbed my acetate with a dryer sheet to try to remove the static, but it didn't work. And yep, you read correctly, I said glitter. I finally broke down and bought a few different colors, so that I could use them in shaker cards. I will handle it with great caution, and pray I don't get it everywhere. lol The sketch I used for this just screamed shaker card to me, so I went with it. I embossed the sentiment on vellum again, and added a bit of twine and a couple of tiny paper flowers that I inked in red. I am totally loving this card, and I can see many more shaker cards being made, very soon. I am going to submit this card for the following challenges.
CAS(E) This Sketch #105: Sketch
Card Concept #26: One Year Anniversary/Photo Inspiration (I chose the classy & elegant style, hope I understood correctly)
Word Art Wednesday #165: Anything Goes
Hopefully, I'll have more cards to share over the next few days. I'm not planning on leaving the house, and am going to try to spend lots of time in my craft room today. I do hope you'll stop by again soon. Lots of fun stuff happening over the next few weeks.
Stay warm!

Merry Christmas
Good day to all!
It's Monday, which means it's back to work for me. I would LOVE to stay home with R and my daughter, but it's too busy at work to take time off at the end of the year. I'm thankful that they will keep each other company, and truly love spending time together. That makes it so much easier, for everyone. :-)
Here is the next card I made with the January SSS Card Kit. This is pretty CAS, for me, which I'm getting more comfortable with.
These colors together are one of my favorite! The contrast of the dark purple, and light aqua are so appealing, to me. I have a feeling I'll be using this color combo again. It's also my first time using Perfect Pearls. I really love the sparkle they give to the snowflakes. To tie the flowers into the rest of the card, I added a bit of ink to the petals, which I then used to sandwich some silver and white twine from Pretty Pink Posh. Simple and beautiful. I dig! I'm going to submit this card for the following challenges...
Pile It On Challenge #49: Christmas/Holiday Cards
Friday Bloggers Challenge: Holiday Cards
Christmas Card Challenge #4: Anything Goes
That's all for me today. I'm hoping to get some more time in my craft room this week, so I have more to share with you. I am excited about Friday though. Be sure to stop by, to see why!
Have a wonderful day!

Key To Heaven
Good day!
Since I will be studying all week, for my test on Wednesday, I was happy to get some time in my craft room last evening. Here is the next card I have to share with you.
I'm not sure this turned out exactly how I pictured it, but I think it's pretty. I don't know if I like the flowers at the top and bottom of the sentiment panel yet, but I think I'll just leave it alone. I was excited to play along with the following challenges.
Word Art Wednesday #145: Anything Goes
Fusion Challenge: Photo Inspiration & Sketch
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Anything Goes
I'm off to my busy day of work, and then I'm hosting a "study group" at our house, for those of us who want the extra push to get things absorbed before tomorrow's test. I hope all of you have a wonderful day!
Hugs!

Winter Wishes
Greetings!
It's kind of gray and overcast this morning, so I plan on doing very little today, with the exception of spending time with my daughter. School starts on Tuesday, so we're trying to get one more day of fun laziness and movies in, before she goes. I can't believe how rapid this year is going by. It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating the New Year. Wow...
Anyway, I have another card to share today.
I love these snowflakes! Even though you can't tell in the picture, the snowflakes are very sparkly. Thank goodness for glitter glue. I think I'm the only papercrafter out there who does NOT like glitter. I don't own any, except for a bottle of Dazzling Details from Stampin Up. lol
I'm excited to combine the following challenges.
Christmas Cards All Year Round August: Sparkle & Shine
Cardabilities #105: Sketch
Jingle Belles: Hanukkah Song (a winter or winter holiday card other than Christmas)
Just Us Girls #254: Blue, Green & Any Neutrals
Christmas Card Challenge #38: Embossing (the polka dots are embossed in clear)
That's all for me. I'm off to cook a few meals for the week, and wait for her to wake up so we can start our movie marathon. I hope everyone has a great day!
Hugs!

You Make Me Happy
Yola!
The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous the last couple days. Highs only reaching the mid to upper 70's with a nice breeze. It almost feels like fall already. Unfortunately, I've heard many people say that this winter is going to be brutal in this area. I'm hoping they're wrong. lol For now I'll just enjoy the sunshine and warm weather hoping it continues for a while. Because of the beautiful weekend, I was inspired to make something "summery". Here is what I wound up with.
I adore this stamp set. When I was a child we lived in Brownsville, TX, for about two years. Back in the summer of 1980, hurricane Allen hit the coast. It was recommended that we evacuate the area, so we headed to San Antonio, to stay with my grandparents. On the drive up, my mom taught me the song "You Are My Sunshine". Since then, it has always been our thing. When I was young, she used to leave me notes in my lunchbox with the lyrics to the song, and as I got older, she'd email me or text me the lyrics to let me know she was thinking about me. When I saw this set from CAS-ual Fridays, I knew it had to be mine. Now she'll get a few cards and notes randomly tucked into things, to surprise her. For this card, I was excited to combine the following challenges.
Just Us Girls Challenge #251: Summer BBQ Photo Inspiration
Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #29: Sketch
The Pink Elephant Challenge #26: Anything Goes
I hope that everyone has a wonderful day, and that you have someone who makes you happy, when skies are gray.

My Whole Heart
Good Monday to all!
I hope everyone is off to a great start to their work week. I feel like the weekend flew by, and I didn't really do anything but make cards. Love that! I wanted to make a card that was bold, and bright to send to R, but wasn't sure what to do. Then, I remembered something he wore to the gym not too long ago, and had an "a ha!" moment. He LOVES the bright neon yellow that is so popular lately, and I just happened to have received all of the Hero Arts Neon inks recently. This is how things turned out.
This bright neon ink is fabulous! In my picture it looks a bit more orange, but in real life it's definitely neon. The contrast of the bright dots with the dark chevron stripes made me super excited, and I love the small pop of color added with the pink heart. This card is bold, like R's personality, and it's bright and cheerful like his smile. I wasn't in love with this card at first, but it's growing on me. It looked like very simple card at first, but the more I look at this picture, there seems to be a bit more going on. I could totally see a room in our house with these colors. lol I was excited to combine the following challenges on my card.
Simon's Wednesday Challenge: Emboss It
CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #134 - Tic Tac Toe (Dots, Gray, Twine this time)
The Paper Players Challenge #206: Sketch
Pile It On Challenge #30: Embossing (the background panel with the dots is embossed with the Diamond Plate embossing folder)
Wishing all of you a great week!

With Sympathy
Good day ya'll!
I'm so glad today is Friday! Unfortunately, I'm home with a sick child. Even though she's almost an adult, this kind of sick needed "her mommy", as she put it. lol We were up most of the night with projectile vomiting and everything else that comes with an upset stomach. Thankfully, my supervisor allows me to work from home when I need to. She's asleep now, so I hope she feels better soon.
Recently, one of my good friends lost his grandmother. She was the sweetest woman. She always took care of all of us, not just her grandkids. She will be deeply missed. Here is the card I am going to send his family.
I dislike making sympathy cards, when they have a purpose. I just hope they find comfort in knowing she's no longer suffering and is in a better place.
I've combined the following challenges in my card.
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Emboss It
CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge #86: Sketch
CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #134: Tic Tac Toe (I chose sequins, embossing & twine)
I'm off to finish working on a few things, and if I get caught up, maybe make another card. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

My Person
Hola!
I hope your week is going well, so far. As mentioned, I have another card to share with you today. Aside from trying to make more masculine cards, I'm also trying to make more CAS cards. I struggle with both, so what better way to get more experience than to make them, right? Here is the next card for you to see.
I just recently got my first couple sets of CAS-ual Fridays stamps. I always tell R that he's "my person" so this stamp set had to be mine. lol I'm certain you can figure out who be the recipient of this card. I dig how this turned out. I was happy to include the following challenges in my card.
CAS-ual Fridays Challenge ##133: Summer Lovin' (include hearts in summer colors)
The Paper Players Challenge #205: CAS Monochromatic
I'm off to work, but I'll be back again soon, with another card. I hope you have a great week!

Thank You Tombow!
Hey y'all!
How's your holiday weekend going? I did have to work a bit yesterday morning, but I'm glad that I did. I will be ahead of the game when I get back to work tomorrow, and things are crazy, which they always are after a holiday. I did, however, get time to make a card. Yay!
Recently, the wonderful people at Tombow gifted me some of their awesome goodies, in celebration of their 100th birthday. I received some lovely bright markers, some really nice colored pencils and some adhesive. Check it out!
I wanted to use all of these items on the card I was going to make, but wasn't sure what to do. Then, I saw the CAS-ual Fridays challenge (from two weeks ago...yep, I'm behind lol) and loved the color combo of aqua, green & orange. So, here's what I made.
I stamped the large butterfly, twice, and colored them with the colored pencils. I then stamped the small butterfly, and colored it with the markers. I layered them together and added a pearl. The dimension on this butterfly is SO awesome! I love how it turned out. I was excited that the colored pencils matched the background chevron paper almost perfectly. I added a pop of yellow, teal and orange, and my card was good to go. It's simple, and lovely.
If you get the opportunity, check out the festivities at the Tombow blog. In celebration, they're donating to the Council for Arts Education. What a great thing to do!
I'll be back soon, with another something crafty.
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs!

Hugs!

Birthday Wishes
Hola y'all!
I hope you've had a wonderful Saturday, and that the weather is being nicer to you than it is to us here in NW Iowa. I've got three teenage girls who have been at the pool for most of the day, and they're headed back for the midnight swim around 9pm. I'm glad they're keeping themselves cool, and entertained. lol
I needed a birthday card for a friend, and this is what I came up with. It's not too girly for a guy, is it?
If you know me, you know I have a difficult time with masculine cards. I have taken on the approach that if I keep it simple, it works out better. This is a good example of that, I believe.
I've combined the following challenges in my card:
Creative Belli #173 - Stars
Color Throwdown #250 - Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, Melon Mambo & So Saffron (I used colors I thought were close)
Freshly Made Sketches #94 - Sketch
CASual Fridays #109 - Polka Dots
Annabelle Stamps #167 - Polka Dots
I'm going to take the girls to dinner, then we're having shaved ice, before they head back to the pool. I'll be back soon with another something fun. I know Monday I've got two really cool posts going up for some new DT work.
Hope you'll check back soon!

I Can Do All Things...
Hiya!
Happy Saturday! I am excited that I got to sleep in this morning. Nothing like getting a couple extra hours of sleep. *happy sigh* I'm sure I would have slept longer, had I not received a text message from a certain someone who's in another time zone. lol I'm also super excited that my daughter will be home this afternoon. I missed her very much! I wanted to get some crafty time in before she gets home, so I created this, before breakfast even. :-)
This is my very loose interpretation of VLVJUL2013 sketch challenge over at SCS. I wanted to keep it very simple, so that the sentiment was the focal point. There is someone very close to my heart that will be going through something very difficult over the next few weeks, and I wanted to make sure she knew that I was praying for her, and that God would get her through it. We both know it will all work out in the end, but getting there is often the hardest. I've really taken a liking to CAS cards, and I LOVE how this card turned out. It's simple, and beautiful. I don't use the color purple often, but it's her favorite, so I know she'll love it.
I've combined the following challenges in my card today:
Word Art Wednesday #87 - Anything Goes
VLVJUL2013 - Sketch (again, my very loose interpretation)
CAS-ual Fridays #108 - Include Fabric, Felt, Canvas, etc. (the bottom layer of my focal panel is SU! fabric glued to cardstock, and then cut out with my Nestabilities to create the "frame")
Crazy 4 Challenges #193 - Lets Get Wordy (focus on sentiment, big or small)
I just found out this morning, that I was chosen as the Diva of the week, for THIS card. What a shock! Thanks a bunch!
By the way, don't forget that the new House of Cards challenge will go live on Monday morning. You still have time to join the current challenge though. You can click HERE, for all of the details.
I'm off to finish laundry, clean the house, and maybe make something else. I do hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs!

You're an Angel!
Hello, hello!
Thanks for stopping by. I do hope your week is going well, so far. It's a crazy week for me this week, so I'll have to make these short and sweet. Gotta love it when work interferes with my crafting time. lol
I'm really, really trying to step outside my comfort level "box" and make more CAS cards. I think I pulled this one off pretty well, even though I feel the need to add more to it. lol Love these colors together too.
I've combined the following challenges in my card today:
Case This Sketch #30 - Sketch (challenge is closed, but I really wanted to use it)
The Play Date Cafe #185 - Magenta, Teal & Light Gray
CAS-ual Fridays #104 - Banners and/or Flags
Hiding In My Craft Room #101 - Super Scraps (the banner pieces are scraps)
I hope everyone has a great day. It's off to work for me!
Hugs!!

2012 Christmas Card Challenge Week #35
Happy Sunday y'all!
This post is going to be short and sweet today. I have to finish laundry, and get ready. My friend is taking me to the Ragers game tonight. It's only the second time I've ever been to a Rangers baseball game, and I couldn't be more excited. They play the Chicago White Sox, so I'm told it's probably going to be televised. Yay, maybe we'll be on tv! lol
Anyway, I have a new Christmas card for you today. The challenge this week is no stamping. Talk about a challenge...ugh! For all of the details, click HERE.
Again, I went non-traditional with the colors for my card today. There is no stamping though, as I printed the sentiment on my computer and punched them out. I dig it. I'm happy to have another Christmas card in my stash too. I've actually combined the following challenges into my card as well. It's been a while since I've played along with other challenges.
Fall To Sketch Layout #201 - Sketch
CASual Fridays #63 - CAS with the colors lime, aqua and navy (yes, it's navy not black, i swear!)
Bloggers Challenge - Christmas In July
I do hope you'll head over to check out the cards that the other designers have created today. They're pretty creative with not being allowed to stamp.
I'll try to get some pictures from the game, so that I can post them.
Hugs!

Thank You
Hi everyone!
I hope you had a good weekend, and are having a decent start to your week. I was so excited to get some crafty stuff done this weekend, I can't even tell you! lol It's interesting how badly you miss being able to use your hands. Anyway, I made this card for a dear friend.
This has got to be the most CAS card I have ever created. I absolutely love how it turned out. There is something beautiful in the simplicity. I hope she likes it. I've combined the following challenges for this card:
Speedy The Cat's Friends Challenge #74 - Things With Wings
Corrosive Challenge #133 - Punches or Dies (my butterflies are from a MS punch)
CAS-ual Fridays CFC21 - Monochromatic plus brown
Raise The Bar #76 - Things With Wings
I'm off to work. Back soon with another something.
Hugs!

Christmas Card Challenge Week #37
Hi ya'll!
So, after almost two months of over 100 degree temps and NO rain, I woke up yesterday and it was raining. Yay!! Finally. I don't think we could have taken much more of the drought around here. Everything is dead. So sad. Anyway, enough about that. I just wanted to share that quick. :)
Today's CCC is Christmas Cheer. Please keep in mind that the challenge is optional. Any Christmas/Winter/Holiday card will do. The idea is to help get your Christmas card stash started. Also, you do not need to use a SCRS stamp to participate, but we sure love it when you do. For this weeks challenge, click HERE.
I challenged myself to do a CAS card this week. I like all of the details on my previous cards, but I wanted to try my hand at another CAS card. I like how it turned out, and this weeks Annabelle Stamps challenge, which is to use Raspberry, Olive and Orange, was a perfect color combo for me. I've also used this weeks Fall To Layout sketch (FTL153), which is paired with this weeks CASual Fridays challenge (CFC15). I think it turned out cute.
We're getting closer to Christmas. How many Christmas cards do you have in your stash? I do hope you'll head over to see what the other designers have come up with today. As usual, they're all very nicely done.
Have a great day!
Hugs!

Holiday Greetings
Hi ya'll!
Surprised to see another post from me? lol I have been trying to join in on the Waltzingmouse Sketch challenges since they first started, but wasn't able to accomplish anything, until now. I loved their CAS sketch this week, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity again. They have some wonderful sketches, so I think I'm going to make it a point to join in as often as possible from now on. Continuing with my Christmas mojo, I created this.
I really like the CAS look to my card. I didn't think I'd be able to pull it off, seeing as how I like to keep adding stuff. lol The snowflakes are actually a border die by Tim Holtz, so I think this fits into this weeks CAS-ual Friday challenge, getting edgy, again. I've also come to find a few new challenges to play along with. Check them out.
Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #53 - Sketch (I didn't realize until after I had linked my card, that I will probably be deleted because I don't own any Waltzingmouse stamps, but here's the link to their challenge.)
CFC #8 - Getting Edgy
Clear It Out Tuesday - CAS
Ladybug Crafts (TLT) - Christmas In June (also having a blog hop!)
Oldie But A Goodie #22 - Anything Goes (stamp must be at least 6 months old)
Top Tip Tuesday #40 - Starts with a T (I have Twine on my card)
That's all for me today. I'm being sneaky and posting this, instead of working. lol Hope you have a good one!
Hugs!

Christmas Card Challenge Week #30
Hi everyone!
It's been a few months since I've posted a card for this years Christmas Card Challenges. I took a leave of absence, and even though I'm not officially back until next Sunday, I couldn't help but play along with this weeks callenge, which is Die Cuts. And you know how I am about embossing. HERE is a challenge to support that habit. lol Here is what I came up with.
For this weeks challenge, click HERE.
I love how this turned out! I used my Tim Holtz Carved Ornaments die and the MFT snowflake dies for this. I'm behind on my Christmas cards, so I've created two of the same for this week, and I'll probably do the same each week until I'm caught up. I think I'll have all of my cards done by Christmas that way. lol I've also combined the following challenges into my card this week.
Have a great day!

Sweet Stop #114 - Sketch
Frosted Designs - Black & White plus 1
Speedy The Cat's Friends Challenge #61 - Make it Sparkle (my snowflakes are loaded with Stickles)
CFC #8 - Getting Edgy (my first time joining and yes, I did use a border punch although you can't see it that much lol)
I do hope you'll head over to the CCC blog to see what the other wonderful desingers have created. They're always fabulous!!
Hugs!
